If the paper is getting damaged (Crinkling) then there is an obstruction, if you have had a paper jam a paper was torn as you removed it then try looking for the torn peice of paper other wise see if you can see anything in the paper path
Sensor failure, there is a line of sensors along the paper path which report back to the printer that the paper is moving at the correct speed and is in the correcty location when it should be, if one of these fails then the printer will decide that there is a problem and abort the printing, often but not always a shut down, unplug and wait a couple minutes for risidual power to completely drain before plugging back in and powering up as this will solve this problem as it resets the sensors in the printer
The rollers are not moving the paper fast enough, this may be caused by incompatiple paper try a different paper, damp/poorly stored paper try a completely different paper source, roller slipage due to ware or a build up of paper dust - if you can see any of the rollers try wiping them with a damp cloth or possible a bit of wire wool followed by a damp cloth
