SOURCE: refrigerator side not sealing tightly when shut.

Sounds like you may need a new magnetic seal. It is worth the money to fix it, saving electric and your food items.

Good Luck

SOURCE: refrigerator door does not close tight

Either the cams and shims are bad or your gasket is bad. Look at the gasket, if it looks good, then the cams and shims are bad. Call us with the model number and brand and we will ship the parts to you. Hope this does the trick for you! Ella :>)

SOURCE: Freezer door stays ajar after closing the refrigerator door.

The lower hinge on each door may have a door closing cam. It raises the door up ¼ inch when opening and this assist in closing the door. If it’s wore out and doesn’t work the door may not seal and the gasket can be damaged. Watch the operation of the door to see if it rises up when opened.

Leave the door shut and let the magnetic gasket hold the door in place. Put something between the bottom of the door and the floor to hold it in case it slips.
Remove the bracket holding the pin and hinge assembly taking note of order of removal of parts. Slide new cams on. You probably need two.

Is this unit new? Is it new to you? Has this problem just developed? I need the history to help you. If it is new, you have a year warranty. All units built today are as air tight as possible. When one door is opened and closed. The other door can pop open. To alleviate this issue the unit's front levelers must be adjusted to tilt the unit back slightly. The door or doors might still pop open but will close by themselves. If I can help you futher, let me know.

You need to bend the door, if the gap is at the top put your foot between the frig door and the bottom and push the door closed slightly. so you can check it and do a small amount at a time. till tou reach the point that the door closes tight. if the gap is at the bottom put a shoe or something about 4 to 5 inches wide. go for it you can fix this..... saw

Frigidaire FRT17G4BW9 doors not staying closed

Adjust the front legs of your refrigerator slightly to raise the refrigerator. and and store items on the freezer door shelves to add weight. This is a problem of pneumatics and a testament to how tight newer refrigerators are. When you close the large refrigerator door it compresses the air in the refrigerator compartment. Both compartments are connected by air passages and thus the pressure change is transferred to the freezer causing the freezer door to pop open.

Raising the front of the refrigerator a tiny bit will help both doors close from the 90 degree point, which is desirable. Adding weight to the shelf will just help the process.

An additional aid in self-closure will be to use vegetable oil on a paper towel to wipe down the hinge side face of both door seals. All these maneuvers should aid in causing the door to stay closed and re-close if it should open slightly. Good Luck
