Line level is known as 600 ohm line signal where the output impedance is 600 ohms and the input impedence is between 10,000 to ~ 50,000 ohms. There are normally no issues when connecting line level to line level. It is meant for transferring signal, not power.

How to wire a 4ohm sub woffer to a 2ohm stable?

First you need two 4 ohm speakers or one Dual voice coil speaker. you wire the speakers in parallel bringing the total impeadence to 2 ohms. The amplifier is what has to be 2 ohm stable...check your technical specs on the amp to see if its stable at 2 ohms...not all are. check this

HIFONIC 1500D WATTS (2)2OHM L7s WAS TOLD CAN ONLY WIRE TO 350 WATTS EACH SPEAKER BEST BUY SAYS I NEED A NEW 1500 WATT KICKER AMP TO GET FULL POWER 1500 WATTS OR (2) 4 OHM L7S TO GET FULL 1 OHM 1500 WATTS

Look, if the amp is 1500watts mono, then you have the capability to run a sub up to the full 1500watts, but i see on the specs for this amp that it has output for 2 speakers, which means up to 750watts each speaker. That's more than enough to power your L7's. They're trying to sell you something you don't really need in my opinion. Hope this helps.

I have a behringer 1500 watts amp that is clipping

What is happening is that your amp can deliver 1500 Watts at a given impedance. The Sub PROBABLY is a higher impedance. Your amp runs out of voltage due to the speaker impedance, hence it "flat tops" or clips.

You will probably find the sub is 8 ohms and your amp might deliver 1500 Watts on a 2 ohm system (this is "specsmanship" to sell their product... more is better thing...

If your amp was as above, the max voltage output would be the same before clipping but with the resistance 4 times, the current is only one fourth that which would deliver 1500 Watts. So you would only get 1500/4 Watts into the speaker or about 375 Watts.

Use a multi meter to check resistance of the voice coil (between "+" and "-" terminals of speaker) Should read slightly lower than Impeadence of speaker. I would wager the voice coil has an open.

I have two Jl 13.5s w7 they only pop

There should be no need for a series connection. The outputs on the amp are parallel inside the amp, requiring you to only connect the speakers separately to the amp. With two 4 ohm speakers, you will achieve a 2 ohm output [(4x4)/(4+4)] and be within tolerance.

The Low Ohm light will also illuminate in the event of a short. Check your speaker wiring, looking for any positive leads touching negative leads or for any leads that may be grounded to the chassis of the vehicle.

I have connected 6 speakers to my amp why does it keep cutting off

Try it with only two speakers.

Does it have 6 channels? if not you may have damaged one of the output amps.

When you connect more than one speaker per terminal (in parallel) it lowers the impeadance and the lower the impeadance the less stable the amp.

You can google "parallel speaker circuits" to learn more

I am trying to install some L5 kickers 4om and am trying to find out how to do it..

hello, there are many options when wiring in new subwoofers. you need to make sure that your amp is stable on the impeadance you are looking for. just cause the subs are 4 ohms doesnt mean the amp is built to push 4 ohms stable. check the users manual if all matches up take these few things into consideration. typically the lower ohm signal pushed out of the amp is usually the strongest. example if your amp is 1 ohm stable it will deliver more power at 1 ohm than at 4 ohms. a resourcful tool is a website called 12volt.com hope this helps

Trying to hook up jbl sr4732 speakers the highs are to loud compaird to the bass or lows. im only using a onkio with a 100 watt per speaker.

These JBL speakers are not made for a home stereo reciever. It could be part of the problem.

I do know that they have a high frequency input and a full range input on each speaker.

I am going to guess that maybe you have them connected to the high frequency input.

Are you using 1/4 inch jacks connecting to the input of the speakers?

I don't remember these speakers having a input for wires.

You may have another issue using these speakers with that reciever.

The JBL speakers are 4 ohms each, it is very likely that the onkyo requires 8 ohm speakers.

Look on the back of the Onkyo where the speaker jacks are at and see if it says anything about the minimum impeadance.

The impeadance is the ohms. Most home recievers are not designed for anything less than 8 ohms. Some are, but most are not.

Using 4 ohm speakers on a system that requires 8 ohm speakers can cause damage to the reciever. Mostly at higher volume levels, it will cause the reciever to overheat and shut off, maybe short out a channel. It pulls 2 times the amount of current thru the output transistors as 8 ohm speakers.

Let me know if this helps you or if you need more help.
