At low volume it is fine after you get to about 20 on the volume it starts to crack, pop and distort very bad what is making this happen

Your speakers may say 350 watts but that is the peak wattage at which they blow up and not a wattage they can sound distortion free at. Look for the RMS wattage which is probably around 40 watts. If you look at the specs on your receiver you will see it will put out a maximum of about 50 watts but the distortion on the receiver is above 1 percent at anything over 22 watts. That means they are going to start distorting at around half volume. The other thing you might check for is a impedance mismatch between the speakers and the receiver. Is the receiver set up for an impedence output of 8 ohms but your speakers are 4 ohms impedance.

Denon AVR 1508 distortion on left channels

I have a different model, but sometimes suffer this when power outages or other strange things happen. Its usually the microprocessor getting confused and not doing its job properly, once none of the speakers came on at atll!
In the handbook, it will tell you how to do a factory reset - that always sorts mine (Same brand, Denon). Just a pain setting it all up again.
You should be able to find a PDF version of the handbook online if your's is misplaced in the house move.

Hello, teac mp-211 plays music with distortion, S.O.S.....

Sound quailty is a function of the rip bit rate (higher = potentially better) and the transducers (earbuds (worst) >>> real speakers (best). Can you fill in the unknown piece of this and evaluate it on your own for how it affects the sound? You could also try feeding the output to other speakers.

If you drag the music files to another place, like a hard drive and play them you can determine if the distortion is inherent to the recording/rip.

Left channels do not work when using surround modes

Ohhhhhh, so it has NEVER worked for YOU and it needed fixing when you got it. That changes everything. And you don't have the manual??

You can find the manual on Just register and download it. You're going to need it to make use of this unit anyway.
Make sure everything is connected correctly.

Look it over and play around with it. Speaker setup needs to be done before anything else. Did you get the microphone that comes with it? If not, go to page 23 and start there.

I have distortion coming out of my front right channel of my AVR

Yes, sounds like your DSP chip has an issue. Not an inexpensive repair if that's the culpret. Around 400-500 to replace the chip. It's an awesome receiver and worth 300-400 in repair, however, a 3800 or 1800 can be had for 600-800 depending where you look. If you need more help, post a comment and I can help you some more.

Surround sound distortion

Receivers like this will incorrectly decode rear channel audio and pass it on to the rear channels as distorted audio. Make sure the source being used really has rear channel information encoded into it. It could have other issues but check this first.
