Pending the age the motor can be bad being this the newer models have a electronic controlled motor by taking the front cover off using a putty knife in the slit going across the front push in on each side with putty knife and pull out on front cover then look at the top of the motor you will see a flashing light (newer models only) it should flash a repeated flash.in timer console is the tech sheet which will tell you the other codes. but before you go through all this check your lid switch

hi Jlove.
Washer Fills but Does Not Agitate. If your washer fills with water but doesn't agitate, the problem is likely to be a faulty lid switch, a broken belt, or a problem with the motor. (Note: Direct-drive washing machines do not have belts..

Hi,

You just do this

  • Test the lid switch
  • Inspect the motor coupler
  • Inspect the drover belt (belt drive only)
  • Inspect under the washer for soot (clutch)
  • Test the motor

  • Test the transmission
  • Inspect the Agitator

coupling between motor and drive assy broken. take motor loose and you can get it out. Visual check first to see if motor is running when in agitate cycle.

GE Washing machine won't spin in rinse cycle

Possible your outlet filter is blocked. This requires cleaning depending on your usage. Clean this out and refit. Good luck. Plug off the wall first.
