I wouldn't attempt to troubleshoot this further. It sounds like you have damaged the PSU and further tampering could cause a fire in your laptop or fry your components.

Recommend that you take it in for service.

Why is my Fender Blues Deluxe Amp making a crackling sound without an instrument even plugged into it and when I do plug in, it quiets when I touch any place on the guitar?

You probably need a new input jack on the amplifier. When they get loose the connecting wires can crackle, but plugging a guitar in stabilizes them (no more crackle).

My screen does not turn on

  • Remove all power (adapter power Cord and Battery (for laptops))
  • Hold down the ON button for 30secs (dispersing internal voltage)
  • Plug the power cord in only (ie leave battery out, for the moment)
  • Turn on
Check your power adapter. Plug it in to a known good power receptacle. See if the power adapter has any lights that light up to make sure it is getting power.
Take the battery out of the laptop and just only plug in the power adapter.
Do any lights on the laptop light up when you power it on? Does it beep?Does it make a sound? Is where you plug your power adapter to your laptop loose or broken?

if no sound or light the its either power adapter , dc jack or cable, or system board .

Please note, it is also a good measure to re seat the memory.

Hi my acer desktop sometimes refuses to switch on and other times it switches on. When it accepts to starts, it sometimes switches itself off when am working. What could be the problem?

Could be a combination of things causing this, "What to Check Out" first off it may be the power button it may be worn and in need of replacement. Second could be a short in the power pin input where you plug the laptop in at. Plug it in when working or not working and wiggle it around gently to see if it lights up or sometime shows a blinking light. If this happens then you will need to have that piece on the board replaced or soldered. Check for shorts in the wires itself see if there are bent wires or crimped up wires on the power cord. Animals are notorious for doing that sort of damage to power cords.
So we know it is a power issue working and not working that is where I would start at. The sources as I explained above. Right now it is something that is shorting out. I believe without seeing the computer itself that the plug in power sources are the issue here. Especially the input plastic pin where you plug the power cord into is a common issue on laptops because they get bent or stepped on or pulled and twisted when using a laptop.
This is why it is critical to be gently with these types of components. Keep animals away from chewing on them as well or when plugging laptops in to make sure the cords are not bent up or twisted but straight inline with the power source plug in on the laptop. This can happen over time as well.
I think that is your issue. While laptop is being repaired if you do it yourself which I do not recommend if you have never done this sort of thing take it in for repairs. Make sure they clean the dust out of the fan and CPU areas as well. John

I have a 3700 laptop; I have been using it regularly since 2005. It has been working well until this afternoon - when I turn it on, I get a black screen the starts with "we apologize for any...

If the crackling noise comes from the place where you plug in the power cord, try wiggling it and see if it moves too much or it's firmly attached. It may be a problem of a detached power socket, in which case you'll need to resolder the power plug on the motherboard.
If the crackling noise sounds like a metal-on-metal clicks and comes from the hard drive area, then you're hearing "the click of death" which means your hard drive is about to die. In this case, get a 2.5 inch IDE/ATA hard drive USB enclosure, mount the hard drive in the enclosure and copy the data onto a good hard drive.
If the crackling noise is more like hissing high pitch noise and comes from the center of the laptop or close to where the vents are, then you may be looking at a motherboard failure, more specifically a poor contact of the FSB chip. This can cause all sorts of issues, and your description might just be one of them. Take a look at this post for troubleshooting and repairing a motherboard with a bad FSB chip.

Laid tv face down on new rug to install legs, set back on table, sound,no picture.had picture 10 min prior

You should be seeing a validation that the TV is getting power. Like the lights are coming on, or you are hearing clicking when you plug in or power up the TV.

Make sure you have the TV’s power cord plug inserted all the way into the TV.

Also, make sure the TV's cord is plugged into a good power outlet. You may want to plug something else into the power outlet to be sure the outlet is good.

I don’t see how laying down the TV would cause this issue. Unless the TV was kind of dropped and or twisted to cause a board inside the TV to fracture/break.

I hope this information has helped you.

Good Luck.

Power cord doesn't work and crackles

STOP using it immediately, throw it away and replace it. You can buy a replacement from the manufactures website or go to BestBuy and buy a universal one. Be prepared to spend about $90, unless you can buy one on ebay. just look at the big black box on the power cord and WRITE DOWN THE VOLTAGE AND AMPS listed there. make sure the new one matches exactly.

About little bit of smell coming from my laptop

What I have seen in my business is this: With laptops the power cord adapter places too much strain on the power connector and weakens the connector or the power cord that plugs into the laptop has taken a hit and it breaks loose the power connector from the motherboard. This is a serious issue as further use will destroy your motherboard from electrical arcing. Once the mobo becomes burned out in that location you will need a new motherboard. If you can find someone to repair the laptop then I would have them look at it. Laptop repair is not something for amatuers with no experience with electronics repair. Laptop repair can be accomplished with patience and experience. Anytime you smell something burning and hear crackling it is not normal.
I would start with looking at your adapter end that plugs into the laptop, if this is damaged you can try to get another adapter. If it looks OK then I would have a technician look at your laptop. Continued use like this will cause further damage.

Power BOX supply cord problem or hardrive problem?

Check these settings first. In a clear spot on the screen where no icons are, right click and go to properties, box opens and at top should list from R to L, themes-desktop-screensaver-appearance-advanced. click on screensaver, close to bottom click on power, another box should open, click on power schemes, make sure it's set to portable/laptop, and at bottom make sure settings for plugged in are are set to never. If it's not that then you have a bad power supply cord, or a bad power supply unit in laptop. If it's new and under warranty take it in and have replaced if not warrantied then will cost you about 100-150, just a guess!! hope this helps. But it sounds like the supply cord making the beeping noise might be bad. Make sure it's plugged all the way in as well.
