Dose the video out look the same as if it does then you have a faulty ccd processor or lcd itself is bad. It may be time for a new camera.

It could be the CCD, fuji has admited a few of their models have the faulty CCDs and there is a list of serial numbers you can look and see if yours is in the list. You may want to call them and see what they say. Ide try and call a few different times if they say it isnt, try again later and see if you can talk to a different opperator. Some may or may not know so dont just take the first pesons word for it if they say no. If you bang on the side of the cammera does it work ok again? usualy if its the CCD problem a bang on the side of the camera fairly hard is enough of a shock to cause it to work again.
SOURCE: can't download pictures from camera
perhaps your Fuji download program is corrupted, or your cable has been broken. Most computers now have a direct plug-in for your memory card, as well as plenty of built-in programs to download your pictures. I like the Vista Photo Gallery (come to think of it, it is the ONLY thing I like about Vista. At any rate, unplug your xD chip from the battery compartment (you can just pull it out, or push it and it pops up), (and close the battery compartment, or you will have to reset the date and time), plug it into your computer, and wait for a bunch of programs to pop up eager to download your photos. If that doesn't work, you may have a bad chip--but if you had a bad chip, you couldn't view your pictures on your camera. If you have XP, you should be able to see the xD as a new drive if you plug it in--not sure which programs will pop up, but you may be able to move the pix just like any files from one drive to another. Good luck. Incidentally, if you need a new cable, internet charges range from 3 to $25.

4/8/08 FOR ALL CCD SENSOR'S MFG by Sony: Found the answer. Sony Repair service is fixing for free any CCD sensor problems on "any" camera that had a "Sony Manufactured CCD sensor". I have now called the service center and they sent me a UPS Return label so I can send my camera in for "free" repair. This is good news!!! I can't remember the site I was on but they listed all brands that had the Sony mfg. CCD sensors in them. So call the Sony Repair Center to find out if your camera has the Sony CCD sensor in it. This was an error in the manufacturing process and they are standing good for this.

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD (not LCD) imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:
