hi i have a problem with my customer i already selled him a kenwood car stereo the model num : KDC-W5031 and it appears waiting on the screen and also i dont have the security code

I had a problem as well with my KDC-MP6025 after I changed my car's battery. I called Kenwood four times asking about why my security code wouldn't take, and on the fourth call the tech said some random 2004 models (definately the MP6025, and probably it's sister receivers the KDC-X678 and the MP625) the decks firmware subtracts one from the 3rd digit if the sequence, i.e., if you set it for code 1234, you'd have to enter 1224. Since I sent Kenwood my product registration, it would have been nice for them to tell me this. I would have been BS if I had found out after if I had kept my $60 appointment to get the code cracked at the authorized repair place Kenwood recommended.
