Question about Panasonic DMC-TZ4 Digital Camera
When I connect my DMC-TZ4 to my laptop via USB cable (as has been done many times before) I get a message saying a new USB device has been found and am asked to insert the CD to install the software. The software is of course already installed. I reinstall it, then at the end get an error message saying "Error during installation of device. The data is invalid". Now what??
Are you trying to copy your photos off the camera, or use it as a webcam?
If you are trying to copy photos, then make sure the camera is in the correct mode, eg: playback mode. if the problem still occurs then try a different USB socket on the computer. If that doesn't work then possibly the USB socket on the camera is damaged (this is a common fault). I would suggest getting a SD card reader that stays connected to your computer full time, take the SD card out of the camera and plug it into the SD reader. That is a more reliable solution.
