My camera I have a Fuji fine pix camera and i bang it and the memory card don't wanna work..the camera works and everything else except the memory card...it keeps on saying memory card not initialized

If it has a slide switch on the side of the card, be sure it's "unlocked". You may also need to format the card in the camera to get it to work properly.

just try removing the memory card and at the side you'll see a tiny switch,slide this in the opsite direction to where it is now and that should work. its a locking system on the memory card, it sometimes gets moved when we remove the card form the camers or put it in a michine to get pics. hope that works.

Hi there remove the card and and use the camera memory for photography. If you success then format the memory card from computer. Make sure there is no virus in your card or computer. After that fix it back and on the camera. I hope your problem will be solve. If your face the same problem in camera internal memory option then i suggest you visit service center for repair. Your camera software might corrupted. I hope its working after memory card formating. Thanks & waiting for your feedback.

Olympus cards don't always work in Fuji cameras. Maybe not at all in older Fuji's.
You could try and update the firm ware in your camera and see if that does anything (if it's available on the Fuji website) Go to the service and support section on the web site and you may be lucky

It sounds like this might be posted to late but I just saw your question. This camera takes SD, SDHC, and xD memory cards. There are many good brands to choose from, but I will say I generally prefer PNY and SanDisk memory cards. I hope this helps!

make sure camera supports a sdhc type card-if not go back to a 2 gb and you will have no probs

format the card through the set-up menu.

try formatting the disk in windows or via the menu on the camera
may be a dud memory card - they are known to have a short life

Format the card, unless it is an "H" or "M" type Xd card. The H & M type cards require the camera to have a firmware upgrade, which can be done from the internet by the user, or by Fuji
