Re: if i turn my camera on it says ''system error''.
Your problem may be due to weak/worn out batteries or corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera
which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the
camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with
a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush,
steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen
into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of
the batteries and place them back in the camera. This cleaning clears
the problem about 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, chances
are that your batteries are just too worn to properly power the camera. And then, of course, there's the possibility that your camera may have a problem that requires professional repair.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Turn the camera off, remove and reinsert the batteries, or unplug and reconnect the AC adapter.
Also, what is the capacity of the memory card you are using? If its 4gb, you will have an issue with the system error.
How long have you had this camera by the way?
This eroor usually comes due to faulty sliding mechanism.Put a bit of force on the focussing lense to push it
back into camera casing. That's the reason the sliding mechanism won't
work. The lense is stuck and if you force it back in, the sliding
mechanism will work again. Not responsible if your camera screws up, so
try at your own risk.
Or else try out this method
Pull the lens fully out and then it will work.It will be bit tricky to get the lens out. Use your nail to "grab" between the outer glass and the little plastic cover.
That is lense trauma. I can be caused by dirt or lense being hit or zolted while open. Canons are strong cameras but if it make a grinding noise when the lense is trying to go back into the camera it most likely needs repair. try blowing the lens out with a hurricane blower or forced air. If the lense is tilted to one side even slightly no amount of forced air will help. good luck!
Hey, my camera the dsc- w80 did the same thing. When I turned it on, the lens opened 3-4 times and then it said "turn the power off and on again".
When the lens opened an closed, I pulled on it with my fingers and twisted it. I kept doing that: Turned the camera on and off, kept pulling and twisting the lens and now my camera works again!
A digital camera's lens is a very easy thing to have damaged. If the lens is bent some time you can force it in to the other direction and it will pop back into place. some times the gears get stripped and the lens then has to be replaced. I replace lenses all the time because of this issue. Hope this helps.
Hi, this is a problem alot of people get having with this type of camera. It could be one of a couple of things first check the battery is fully charges as a faulty battery would cause this problem, do you have a switch on the camera that lets you see the pictures stored on it without opening the lense, not all makes and models do this some have switch you can slide and some is just push button the push button you cant do this. So if yours is the push button one then the only thing to try if the battery isnt the problem is looking and removing anything thats caught in the side of lense. Ok try removing battery and any mem cards if you have any in it then bang the camera firmly into the palm of your hand sort of shocking the camera to dislodge any thing thats stuck in the side of lense do this few times then replace battery and switch on usually this solves the problem. If not then when you switch camera on grab the lense and help it come out taking it past where it gets stuck be gentle try this few times and see if camera comes on. Once the lense is passed certain point the camera should come on. So give that a try it does sound like something is jamming the lense so try pulling it out gently only do it when its supposed to be coming out when it trys to go back in let go again try this few times. Failing this then the problem could be that either the camera has been put down with the lense open and forced the lense motor damaging it or the other thing that people tend to do is switch camera on acidently whilst its in pocket or case so that it switches on but the lense is blocked from coming out this causing damage to lense motor. If the problem is in fact the lense motor then their is no way of getting this repaired they just dont repair these and you cant get the parts like lense motor no camera shop will even look at them as you cant get parts and also price of repair would cost more than replacing the camera. Also check to see if your lense turns round as its coming in or out if it does this then try turning the lense as its coming out. Let me know how you get on ok and ill try assist you further
try two things re formatting the memory card in your pc if this fails switch on camera take the end of the lense and gently twist and pull the lense you may here it click be gentle do not force it then switch off and on again this may solve your problem
Turn on your camera, when the lense is opened, hold it till the blue screen appears, extend the lense to his maximum forcing it a little bit then when you turn off your camera, the noise won't be here. Turn on again your camera and hopes it works. I tried it on my camera, works well at the first try then again the error, i did it twice holding the lense when you turn it on, then it worked perfectly. Hope it works for you. P.S : my english isn't well but i hope it helps.
your lens mechanism is stuck up! try pulling the lens with slight force, if you are lucky the culprit that is blocking the mechanism will get loose. If you are not lucky theres no way you can remove or fix the problem than sending it to the authorized service center. =-(
