If u want to remove the cooling fan of a laptop computer then u will need to unscrew all the nuts , look for hiding nut and carefuly remove them, carefuly remove the bezel, the keyboard,be careful never to spoil the keyboard flex.....look very carefuly on how the component is been placed before u remove it ....remove every component carefuly till u get to the motherboard.......When u get to the motherboard then unplug the cooling fan cable and change the cooling fan...when u have done this.....u will need to re-attached the power card and power it..when u see the board is working perfectly with the new installed cooling fan then u can place everything back .........tight everything back as it is when u remove them....ur system is now working perfectly...

Fan noisey and cmt getting hot on my toshiba a45

Replacing the fan may not be for the faint of heart. Alternatively, buy a can of air & blow the darn thing out. Though not always the best course of action, I sometimes do it with the notebook turned on. This way, I stand a better chance of expelling the gunk than if the fan blades were stationery. Next, I would buy a $15 laptop stand with a usb-pwered cooling fan.

Why is cooling fan making weird noises

Depends on what the weird noise is...kind of a squeak? Fan bearing are going out....clicking or dragging sound? the fan blade is hitting something....

* If it's a BIOS problem, try this :

1. Shutdown ur system, and remove the BIOS battery.
2. Reinstall it and start again.
3. You can also replace the battery. (if above steps don't works!)
4. Try to get a updated version of BIOS driver. (if above steps don't works!)

* If u r also hearing any kind of beep sounds, it may be bad RAM (memory). Try this :

1. Shutdown ur system, and remove the RAM.
2. Reinstall it and start again.

tell me if these steps don't work! :)

Toshiba Satellite A45-S250 cooling fan not working

I would suggest you take the laptop apart and inspect the fan, if its covered in dust, it might be unable to rotate.

yes this is a fairly easy repair and can be done at home. You will need to find a replacement fan for it though, look at the numbers from the old fan.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks,
Ekse

The cooling fan is not working

THe shutting down is your laptop's thermal protection. It is trying to keep the CPU from being destroyed.  You should stop using it until you fix it, or you will destroy it.
The fans are not hard to replace and toshiba disassembly is fairly straight forward. Just get your #1 and #2 phillips head screw drivers and pay attention to how you take it apart.
Call Toshiba and order replacement fans for your laptop as they will not set you back very much.
