This is an internal installation error. There can be 2 solutions:---- Solution 1:-- Find all of the hpqwrg files and delete them before installing the software:

  1. Click Start .
  2. Click Search ( Find for Windows 98).
  3. Click Files and Folders .
  4. In the Named entry box, type hpqwrg .
  5. Set the Look In entry box to C: .
  6. Click Search Now ( Find Now for Windows 98).
  7. Click Edit , and scroll to Select All .
  8. Delete all files pertaining to hpqwrg . There will be approximately five to six files.
  9. Be sure to empty the recycle bin of these files also.Solution 2:---- Completely uninstall the higher version of software and reinstall the lower version first, follow the steps below in order:
    1. Uninstall all of the HP Photo and Imaging software (for both of the products). (The uninstall program can be found in theControl Panel in Add/Remove Programs ).
    2. Re-install the lower version of the software.
    3. Re-install the higher version of the software. Thank you Sir.

I solved with solution #1 (if you don't have any more HP devices/services/apps installed):
1) stop PML and NET services
2) also stop HP Network discovery
3) uninstall all HP and delete all HP directories from \Program Files
4) delete all HP*.* files from %SystemRoot%\system32
5) clean registry with ccleaner (available from filehippo.com)
5) install CD

Solution 1>
CAUSE:
Certain HP services (and associated DLL files) were somehow partially/improperly installed. (Possibly, from a previous failed install?)
The Windows services (files) were:
Pml Driver HPZ12 (C:WindowsSystem32HPZipm12.dll)
Net Driver HPZ12 (C:WindowsSystem32HPZinw12.dll)

The existence of these 2 files in the System32 directory was causing this error in my situation. Somehow, the installation script was not identifying that these files were already installed (or improperly installed) and failing to properly set them to be installed again.
SOLUTION:
Steps:
1) Check to make sure that the 2 Windows services above are not running (or not installed).
2) Rename/delete the 2 associated service DLL files (this will only be possible once the services are stopped)
3) Run the installation again.

During the installation of Nitro PDF pro I have the error 2753

For OS -> Vista or Win 7, try these steps.
Start ' CMD ' Right Click and Run as administrator ' regsvr32 vbscript.dll
and, reinstall your Nitro PDF pro Installer.

Windows XP Users -> Read this link @ http://www.ehow.com/how_5047270_fix-internal-error.html

If you still get the error 2753, try using another Nitro PDF pro installer. Corrupted files from the installers can also cause these errors.

Hope it helps.

Error message 2753 MSI.dot4wrp message when trying to install HP Photosmart c4480

I had the same problem. I tried to install my new HP Photosmart 8550 printer onto my HP desktop, I am running on Vista 64 bit. Kept getting fatal error MSI.dot4wrp40 over and over again. Upset that my Windows installer was corrupted. I search the internet for this error and realized that this only comes up with NEW HP Printers and scanners. I went to Epson's website and downloaded a driver for one of their photo printers and downloaded the driver for the Epson Stylus Photo1400 Vista 64 bit driver, and guess what it installed I went and bought this printer and I am up and running again. Sorry HP I am jumping ship. The week before I tired to install this HP printer, I installed Print Shop Pro Publisher 23, Blackberry desktop, and Canon digital utilities which in fact all use Window Installer. All installed with no problem, and they are all working. I believe this error message has to be a conflict between HP and Microsoft's 64 bit OS only.... Google THIS ERROR and you will notice only HP comes up.

Unable to install software on hp c4480 message at 96% is 'Failed Error During Installation. MSI.dot4wrp...Error Code 2753'

This is a very very tricky issue.
For a long period of time there was no known resolution for this.
but now you can resolve this too.

Follow the mentioned steps very carefully:

>> use the following links depending on your OS:

for Windows XP:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-62152-3&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3560280&os=228&lang=en

For Windows Vista:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-62152-3&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3560280&os=2093&lang=en

click on download only and download the software for PHOTOSMART C6380

>> run it and install it(keep the USB CABLE DISCONNECTED before installing)
>> during the installation you will be prompted to connect the usb cable.
DO NOT CONNECT THE USB CABLE
>> there will be a small check box that will tell you to check it if you want to connect the cable later.
>> CHECK THAT BOX and continue with the installation.

>>>>>>
After the installation completes successfully...
insert the disc for your printer (i.e C4480)

Error 2753 HP3055

My Scenario:

OS: MS Windows XP SP3 [Version 5.1.2600]
Printer: HP LaserJet 3390 (AiO) (Firmware datecode: 20070331)
Printer Connection: Connected via Ethernet with a static IP address
HP Driver Version: v4.0 (hp_LJ3050-3052-3055-3390-3392_Full_Solution_AMWE.exe)

Ran into same error that everyone else is experiencing. (see below)

Now Launching=X:\hpzmsi01.exe -m dot4msi -l XXX -f X:\DIVins??.DAT
Error message received: The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2753.
X:\HPZBDI32.msi failed with return code 1603
MSIInstall() failed with 1603
Exit code=1603

After debugging HP's installation scripts for 2 days, here is the cause & solution I identified to this specific install error. Once I got passed this error, everything installed without error and all functionality was working properly (including scanning!).

BACKGROUND:

Microsoft Installer (MSI) error 1603 is simply a generic "A fatal error occurred during installation" -- see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa368542(VS.85).aspx. This is basically MSI telling you that something very bad has happened during the installation. In order to get more details, you can turn on MSI debug logging by following this MS Knowledge Base article (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/223300).

The MSI error code 2753 is the code for "The File '<file name>' is not marked for installation.". This error can be triggered by many scenarios, but usually, it has to do with the actual installation script not properly checking for the existence/non-existence of an installation file and then not marking it for either installation/removal. I know this sounds confusing, and it is. If your curious about all the possible causes, just Google for "msi 2753 not marked for installation" and you'll see lots of results which you can peruse for your own enjoyment.

In order to identify what was causing these 2 errors, I enabled debugging for MSI via the aforementioned MS KB article

CAUSE:

Certain HP services (and associated DLL files) were somehow partially/improperly installed. (Possibly, from a previous failed install?)

The Windows services (files) were:

Pml Driver HPZ12 (C:\Windows\System32\HPZipm12.dll)
Net Driver HPZ12 (C:\Windows\System32\HPZinw12.dll)

The existence of these 2 files in the System32 directory was causing this error in my situation. Somehow, the installation script was not identifying that these files were already installed (or improperly installed) and failing to properly set them to be installed again.

SOLUTION:

Steps:

1) Check to make sure that the 2 Windows services above are not running (or not installed).
2) Rename/delete the 2 associated service DLL files (this will only be possible once the services are stopped)
3) Run the installation again.

If all goes well, the install should now run without any issues.

Hope this helps since many people (including myself) have spent a lot of time (and HP Support chats) trying to find a workaround for this issue.

If you find this solution helped you out, please feel free to make a small donation to my PayPal ;)
