My blackberry pearl 8100 cannot connect to the desktop manager, it says it cannot communicate with the device. The phone is also displaying an App error 523.

You will need to reload the operating system of the device.

Make sure you backup the phone however you can. Put as much stuff on the SD card or SIM card as much as you can.

The device operating system will depend on your carrier, you will need to download the operating system from there. Wipe the device, connect it to your computer and it should recognize it.

When Connected select USB PIN: UNKNOWN (If the device still cannot connect to the computer, there may be a windows side driver problem, or more likely there is something wrong with the BB hardware.)

Start the Apploader from the BB desktop Manager

Select a Reinstall of the OS. It will take about an hour to reinstall the OS.

Phone turns into a white screen with hourglass in the middle then shuts off. happens several times a day.

Hi it is because the BlackBerry Pearl 8100 smartphone cannot initialize the BlackBerry Device Software or there is a corrupt operating system file.
To resolve this issue, reload the BlackBerry Device Software on the BlackBerry Pearl 8100 smartphone.
To perform an installation of the BlackBerry Device Software using BlackBerry Desktop Manager version 4.5 to 5.0, perform the following steps:
1) Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager. 2) Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer and open the BlackBerry Desktop Manager. 3) Double-click Application Loader.
4) Click Start under Update Software to start the installation process.
5) Type your BlackBerry smartphone password, if prompted, and click OK.
6) Select Options under Device Software Options.
7) Select the check boxes next to the names of the applications to be loaded, and then click Next.
8) Click OK > Next > Finish.
9) When the process has completed, the message The loading operation was successful will appear.
10) Click Close to return to the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
I hope this information will be helpful to you.

My blackberry pearl turned itself off and when I tried turning it on all I get is an hourglass

  • BlackBerry Devices take a while to turn on, so be sure you have waited atleast 5 minutes for it to turn on
  • Make sure the battery isnt dead (plug in charger)
  • Try pulling out the battery and re-inserting it.
  • If none of the above steps worked, try this:
  1. Plug your BlackBerry into the computer.
  2. Download the latest version of the Blackberry operating system from your carrier.
  3. install it to your Blackberry using Desktop Manager

  • If it isn't recognized by the computer, or the install dosent work, call your carrier for a warranty repair.

This behavior indicates that no applications are installed on the BlackBerry smartphone

CAUSE: The Application Loader tool in BlackBerry® Desktop Manager removed existing applications from the BlackBerry smartphone, but failed to install new applications.

RESOLUTION
  1. Verify that BlackBerry Device Software is installed on the computer.
  2. If the BlackBerry smartphone is connected to a laptop computer using a docking station, disconnect the docking station from the laptop computer and connect the BlackBerry smartphone directly to the laptop computer.
  3. If a third-party application uses the same communications port as the BlackBerry Desktop Software, close the third-party application.
  4. If you use a USB adapter to connect the BlackBerry smartphone to a serial port, temporarily connect the BlackBerry smartphone to a USB port.
  5. In the BlackBerry Desktop Manager, double-click Application Loader.
  6. Follow the Application Loader tool prompts to install the BlackBerry Device Software.
