Question about Price Pfister 532-7PCC Marielle Pull-Out Kitchen Faucet with Matching Soap...

1 Answer

533-50 kitchen faucet leaks above base mount at pivot body when water is on and the faucet is pivoting to fill other sink.It dribbles out on counter top.Seems not to leak if faucet stays stationary. The joint for the handle body seems to have some up and down play in it.Maybe all it needs is to tighten it if possible. Thanks

There are O rings that seal the various body parts of this faucet. I would try turning off the supply lines, removing the handle, and unscrewing the faucet and the housings. Look for O rings that seal each part. Could be a broken, or maybe some foreign material has gotten in the O ring grooves. Best bet would be to replace any O rings and tighten it all back securely. It should not have any Up and Down play, should only swivel side to side. I'm thinking O rings. While there, you can replace the seat seals and springs, so that you preclude any leaks from the faucet itself. Lowes, Home Depot, carry the repair kits for these faucets at a reasonable price. And they usually include the allen wrench and wrench to remove the handle and the body parts. And they are relatively inexpensive. Around 4 to 6 dollars. Its an easy fix.

you must use genuine kohler parts,if you got something from lowes or home depot that was some other brand they usually leak. also look for calcium build up inside the valve body, you can use 1500 grit wet sand paper to remove it just be carefull and dont sand too much, then apply water proof plumbers grease inside the valve body befor you install the new cartridge.

When installing do you silicone each piece for example the faucet , the soap dispenser ,the sprayer , and the tap

Hi seawitch678,

If you have a granite or stone countertop/sink, use silicone as plumber's putty will stain the stone. Plumber's putty is petroleum based so it will not adhere to stone. Normally you should use what the manufacturer recommends and where they recommend. When installing a faucet, put either around the base of any piece that goes through the countertop.

Hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate your vote. Thanks,

How do I fix my kitchen sink faucet?

he steps to replace a faucet are easy and nearly always the same. Here's how it works:
  • Shut off the water supply to the faucet. Usually, there are shut off cocks near the faucet but if not, you may have to shut the water off near your main line.
  • Remove the water feed lines from the faucet. You may wish to tag the hot water line "hot left" to take the guess work out of reconnecting.
  • Remove the faucet hold down washers or spin nuts. These washers are under the counter top. They spin onto two studs that you will see by looking behind the sink from below the faucet. The stud and washer configurations come in different styles and types but they all do the same work of holding the faucet in place. Your job is to get them loosened up so you can remove the old faucet. The distance between those studs is your "center distance" as mentioned earlier.
  • Once you have the faucet loose, it will be much easier to remove a sprayer line if there is one attached.
  • Clean the area once the faucet is removed.
  • Put the new, plastic faucet base plate in position.
  • If there is a sprayer, replace the base for it (included in the kit) and feed the new line down through the sprayer base and back up through the center hole where the faucet will mount. Attach that line to the new faucet.
  • Insert and firmly yet gently tighten the mounting studs into the bottom of the faucet base if they're not already.
  • Insert the faucet into the appropriate location on your sink and install the faucet hold down washers or spin nuts.
  • Reattach your water lines. Begin by lightly cleaning all threads with a soft cloth and then apply Teflon plumber's tape to the male threads of your connections Be careful not to cross thread anything when putting the connections together.
  • Reestablish water pressure and check for leaks. It always helps to have a spotter / helper for this step.
A new kitchen faucet always gives me a special DIY feeling because a new faucet looks good, operates easier and can even save a little water by providing quick, positive shut off. Take your time and survey the entire job before you start. With a little time and patience, you too can have a bright new faucet in your home kitchen.

Leak at spout pivot point on Kohler K-378 traditional kitchen fau

Not going to stop the leak by tightening. Go to local plumbing or home store and they make a repair kit that has the pieces to fix your problem. Also has a diagram on the back of the kit to guide you, its really an easy fix, shut off water under the sink, both hot and cold, and just remove the handle and unscrewing the top of the valve assembly. Good luck dont forget to rate.

Leaking kohler faucet

Where the spout pivots on the main body, there are a couple of washers, you can replace these washers pretty easily by removing the handle and then the "cover" from the unit. The water has to be shut off before you do this. I would take this oppurtunity to replace all the washers.
