Hi hansvil

I think you have a internet connection maybe that require a Password and username. You can get them at you internet provider :O)

You can find the connections here :
Start- Control Panel- internet connections
You can edit the connections from there

Hope that helps
IF NOT then return here

Have a nice day

I have a used ibm t60 it says i have a internet connection but ie wont load any web pages i also cant load the driver for the dvd so i cant run the restore disc

Hi. Sorry to hear about your problem. First thing to do is to check to see if an update from microsoft has turned on proxy settings for your browser. This is a recently common thing that happens if you let windows update install any and all updates automatically. So to check this you will need to follow these instructions: 1. Open Internet Explorer. Go up to the menu bar and click on Tools, then click on Internet Options. 2. When the window opens, click on the Connections tab at the top. 3. Then click on LAN Settings at the bottom. 4. In that window, make sure that "Use a Proxy server for your LAN" is not check marked. If it has a check mark in the box next to it, click on that box to remove the check mark. 5. Click OK to close that box, then click OK to close the Internet Options box. 6. Close then reopen Internet Explorer and type into the address bar then hit enter.
If google comes up, then your issue is fixed. If not, reply here and we will troubleshoot further.

Hi why cant i login into my account

Check first if you are inputting the correct password. Next try going in to Messenger>Connection Preference> then Click No Proxies

If this won't work, try No Network Detection instead.

Last resort is to c
heck your Internet Explorer settings by going to Tools>Internet Options>Connections>Settings

Then check Automatically Detect Settings.

Also do this again - Tools>Internet Options>Connections>

Then this time click LAN Settings and check Automatically Detect Settings

Click Apply and then try logging in to Yahoo Messenger again.

My ibm thinkpad x31 can detect a wireless internet connection but is unable to connect... it will say connecting for some time after which it will never connect.. Is there any setting problem ??

Internet Connection Errors

If you have a virus or malware that is not letting you connect to the internet or your settings have been corrupt, there is a simple setting that you can look for to correct the error. The most prevalent of these is that you can connect to the router and your network but you have no internet access. This is the one I will concentrate on here.

Bring up your internet browser and click on “Tools”, scroll down and click on Internet Options.
Now click on the “Connections” tab. At the bottom of the page, click on the LAN settings button.
Make sure the box for “Automatically detect settings is checked. Now, Un-check the box that states to use a “proxy server for your LAN” at the bottom. Click OK and OK.

Reboot the machine and try to connect to the internet, you should be able to. I have to also add that in some cases if you have “Selective Startup” selected through “MSCONFIG”….it may be beneficial to change that to “Normal Startup” until you get the other settings configured.

How to set dsl modem

You go to start menu and access the Control Panel. Open Network Connections and make sure the LAN connection is enabled. If not, right click and select Enable. After confirming LAN connection, then go back a page and click Internet Options. Then the page will automatically show you the General Tab. Type in (or verify) home page in the window. eg. . Then select Connections Tab. Remove any connections that appear in the window below. Below that on the same page, select LAN Settings. Check the Automatically Detect option. This will allow your PC to detect your modem and your internet service. Select OK at the bottom and the window will close. Click Start again and select the Internet Explore. If your internet service is active the window will open to your home page. Good Luck!
