Question about Computers & Internet

Error code LP5 with a number of unrelated programs

Whenever I try to open a program such as games called Aveyond, Aveyond 2 and Aveyond 3, they give 'Error! Code LP5. Unable to unpack the program. Please contact the author', and so does Magic FLAC to MP3 converter. There are also some programs that say they are corrupted, yet they install just fine on another computer, for example, the program RPG Maker XP. I have no antivirus software at all on this computer, so don't suggest it, but strangely enough I have it on the computer that works with these programs.

I won't lie, I tried to use a cracker on a video converter program, avs4you, and these problems started. I used the cracker in an attempt to do a school project; though this might not be considered much of a valid reason. It has taught me not to use illegal software like that anymore, though.

So, I can tell you what caused the problem, but not why. If anyone can tell me why and solve it, please do.

Many of the "crackers" contain trojans, keyloggers, viruses and all kinds of malware. I'd do a complete scan of your system with AVG or Avira anti virus, Malwarebytes and Super antiSpyware removers. All are free downloads from the net.If the "cracker" destroyed too many system files, you might be reloading your operating system from scratch. Don't EVER run a PC without anti virus software and a good firewall. Live and learn!! BTW, there are free video converter programs that work well. DVD Flick, Divx to DVD, DVD Decrypter, DVD Fab Decrypter. No need to try and crack legit programs.

Error while unpacking program, code LP5,please report to author.

It seems to be caused by interference from other applications running on the computer such as AV products. It may also be possible that this Ceedo product you are using is the cause of the problems. Any extra info about how you are trying to run KeyboardTest could help us in troubleshooting the problem.

FACTS ABOUT CODE LP5:
  • Programs as "packed" to reduce space, stop hacking and help prevent pirating of the software.
  • Good packing software is hard to write. So packing is often done using external software protection applications. One of these packages is "Armadillo" from Silicon Realms. Now called Software passport.
  • Protected programs are "unpacked" each time you run them. Normally this is not problem and you never notice it happening. When things go wrong during this process you get the LP5 message like, "Error while unpacking program, code LP5. Please report to author".
  • Only Silicon Realms really know what LP5 stands for. But it is enough to know that unpacking failed.
  • Sometimes, very rarely, you get a corrupted download that prevents correct unpacking of the software. The solution here is to get a new download package.
  • Also, very rarely, there is 3rd party software running on the same machine that interferes with the correct operation of the packed application. We saw this when CA's Antispyware had a bug that messed things up. The solution here is to identify the application causing the problem and uninstall it or get the bug fixed. Which is what we did for our software.

Error while unpacking program, code LP5.

I have the same problem "Error while unpacking program, code LP5. Please report to author"
Here is the Solution:
1. The number one solution is to disable or turn off your current anti virus for a while or every time you use that program showing "Error while unpacking program, code LP5. Please report to author." ,
  • then restart your computer,
  • open the program again which previously having error "Error while unpacking program, code LP5. Please report to author."
  • Then after using the program, you can enable or turn on the anti virus.
  • Note: If you will enable the anti virus, the error message to that program will show again; in that case, if you want to use that program again, disable the anti virus again for a while then restart your PC
  • I hope this help you very much. Thank you!
