If you are accessing ATSC signal with an ATSC tuner, then you need an external antenna with good placement to recieve most channels. You may have to move it around. Be sure the coax cable to antenna is not too long with an un-amplified antenna.

Can't access Dolby digital surround mode on my rca home theater system. Using hdmi cables but only getting Dolby prologic settings.

From where is the signal coming?. If it's a PlayStation, Xbox or bluray player settings may be needed in order for it to operate in the desired way.
Also the content has to support Dolby Digital like a tv show even if the receiver had DD the program also has to be in DD.
A lot of new players such as Fire Tv, Apple TV or Roku now send a Dolby Digital Plus signal which only newer-ish support. It's sort of a blanket signal that covers Dolby Digital but won't read as such. It will display as Dolby Digital Plus.
I can help with settings if you give details on the devices. Receiver type. Media type.

Motel tv broken trying to hook up my own

1st I hope the motel is giving you a discount for a room with no tv , second an educated guess would be that your tv is non digital and is set to receive an antenna signal , along about three years ago most all cable systems went to a digital system , this required a down converter for the older TV's to still be able to work on higher channels but some systems still sent 2-13 out on the wire for the older sets as well , essentially the converter takes a hi res digital signal and changes it to a fuzzy/blurry analog signal for the old tv's , silly as it sounds , there's millions of em working everyday in America that way

Why i can't receive dtv

It is difficult to give you an accurate answer as there are so many things involved.

If you were getting a good TV signal before digital then there is every chance the aerial you have will pull in a reasonable digital signal.

The trouble can start from there. You must have good quality quad shield coax cable all the way from the aerial to the back of the TV. Old coax cable used with analogue TV won't do it for you. Even a short length of old cable can ruin the signal.

Then, you might need a digital signal amp if the cable has been split anywhere to different rooms.

It is possible on your TV to display 2 coloured bars, one to indicate signal strength and the other signal quality. They are not graduated with numbers, but should generally be about 3/4 along minimum for a decent picture. You can therefore see what is wrong in a gross way.

My TV picture is not coming in and neither is all my channels.

Perhaps you have the TV set to receive analogue TV rather than digital (DBV). Consult the manual about receiving a digital signal.

Added a 322 reciever to my lake house to be able to watch tv in 3rd room i had 2 standard recievers before. i installed a dish pro quad lnb & reciever had a separator w/it says dp plus 123254 tuner 2...

Is TV 2 off the 322 receiver being back fed from the receiver or do you have a direct connection to the 3rd room? If it is a direct connection, you would screw the coax from the 3rd bedroom directly to the TV 2 Home Distribution channel 21-69 out port.

If you are back feeding, you need 2 diplexers that connect 1) by the receiver and 2) between the receiver and the 3rd TV. The back feeding will use the same cable coming from the dish to the receiver.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

I cant get my zone 2 to play the same thing as my main tv room, how do i fix the problem?

zone2 does need an analogue signal. If your tv room has an digital source, the zone2 won'tgive the same.

Check the manual, the analogue issue is described.

I cannot get sound from a sony BDS350 (Blue ray

This must be configuration problem on the BD player. In this case receiver just outputs the signal it receives digitally. If it displayes PCM 2ch, that means it receives only 2 channel audio from BD player.
You can try to configure the BD player not to decode audio and to output the RAW stream over coax cable to the receiver. Then the receiver should get raw Dolby Digital encoded data and be able to decode it into 5.1 channels. It should also display Dolby D instead of PCM in such case.
