Open the priming port at the discharge pipe. Close the discharge valve and fill the priming port with water until it is full. Power up and switch on the pump. While running, slowly open the discharge valve until the water
pressure gage at the pump is 20 psi. That will be the running pressure of the pump, and the maximum opening of the discharge valve.

How old is the Onga 443? Do you have a pic of it please?

Hello, Ria -

Only the manufacturer of the Onga 443 MAY be able to tell you how old your pump is. You would have to provide the serial number for the pump, in hopes the company has manufacturing records in its archives. The company archives should probably have photographs of the Onga 443.

I refer you to Pentair, the oompany which owns the Onga brand name and manufactures the pumps. See the Pentair Contact Us page to find the email address for Customer Service:
http://www.onga.com.au/contact-us/
The email addresses there seem to be for sales. I would still use the email address for the country where you reside and ask that your message be forwarded to Customer Service.

Best wishes.

How to prime a jsp100 onga pump

Check if there is a plug that can be removed to pour in water, if not the outlet pipe may have to be removed to prime with water, hope the non return valve in the tank has not picked up any rubbish . if it can't be primed that could be the case.

Onga pump does not prime

Theres a pvc Check Valve on the suction side of the pump. This stops water from being able to flow .Depending on age of pool it should be 1.5 to 2 inch fitting.Replaceing this should solve your problem.I there isnt one .Put one in.Around $12 at Home Depot.Link

I have an Onga smh45 which keeps tripping out and you have to push the reset button. I have had it in to two repairers and they say they can't find anything wrong with it. Any assistance would be...

This could be your problem. Make sure it isn't running dry.
D.R.O.P (Dry Running Over-Temperature Protection)
The Onga SMH series of pumps (excluding the SMH35) are fitted with the internationally patented D.R.O.P system which protects the hydraulic parts from possible damage that can be caused by overheating of the liquid inside
the pump casing. The overheating can be the result of external causes (outside the pump) or occurs because the pump stops priming and as water is pumped out the
pump runs dry.The D.R.O.P system is reset using the switch located on the condenser.
If you have access to an amp meter, measure the curring when pumping full load, and be sure it is less than the full load amperage listed on motor.

Plastic impellor sticks inside on onga pool pump and i can't get free .When i try with phillips head screwdriver it is jamming and i can't loosen to get impellor off and the pump only makes noise and can't...

Your Onga Pool pump was running dry causing the
impeller to melt down and stick to the pump case.
You have to remove the impeller, and the only way
to take it off by using the heat gun to melt the stucked plastic impeller. Or by forcing it off slowly, cutting the impeller using hacksaw, taking care of the mechanical seal and the motor shaft not to bend it. Afterwhich you can replace the impeller, and assemble the Onga pump/motor. Then, you can
install the Onga pump back to its location. Just
send you e-mail for further assistance. God bless
you.

How to set up my onga pump and filter its about 8 years old but looks like the currant model.just got it and they didnt have instructions bugger.

We begin at the suction line. I'll assume that you will be using this as a
pool pump since you have a filter. At the suction line, install a horizontal
or a vertical check valve along the suction pipe. Then the suction pipe
is connected to the bottom pipe adapter of the filter. The top pipe adapter of the filter shall be connected to the pump suction adapter. At the pump discharge adapter, install a GI Pipe Tee. At the bottom of the GI pipe tee, put a GI nipple going to the pump discharge adapter. Opposite it shall be the pipe plug to serve as the priming port. At the GI pipe cross, install a GI nipple about 6-inch long with a service **** to balance water flow. At the end of the service **** install another 6-inch GI nipple to attach a gate valve to control water flow. After the gate valve
is the discharge pipelines going back to the pool.

Note: Pump must be installed within 3 to 5 meters near the water source. You may install more than 5 meters but suction could be difficult for the pump.

Priming the pump:

Open the plug at the tee that serves as the priming port, Fill this up with
water to full level with the service **** at full close position. Once filled
up, replace and close the priming port. Put the power on, and start the
pump running, then slowly open the service **** or flow control valve
to appropriate level.

Just send your e-mail for further assistance. Thanks.
