Common motherboard/video failure due overheating.

Might get it work for once by applying pressure above F11 or twisting the computer little bit.

Otherwise might help if chips reflowed or replaced in good computer or gsm shop.

Easier is to sell it on ebay and get new one from there.
PS! Dont forget to mention the problem when selling ;)

It happens because your cpu is getting heated. you need to check your cpu cooler, and possibly replace it.

Your statement is a bit confusing. Try thi,s unplug AC, remove battery, replace battery, plug into AC outlet push on/off button start normally. If that fails repeat and at boot repeatedly tapping F-12 to enter restore/recovery.

My hp pavilion dv6000 is stuck on configuration 3/3 0% and keeps shutting on n off

Turn off the computer, then turn it on and immediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see the SAFE MODE Option. Select the Safe Mode option and see if your machine completes the boot cycle. If it does, do a normal shut down and restart. When it restarts, you want to let it try to boot back up as it normally does. It still might try to do the configuration stuff again, so be patient and let it do it. If it gets stuck and starts shutting off and on as before, turn it off again and boot back into safe mode again.

Once in safe mode click Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore and select a date that is prior to the date when you first started having problems.

Don't worry,. System Restore does not delete any of your data, documents, music, pictures or videos. On the other hand, System Recovery DELETES EVERYTHING and sets your system back to how it was when you purchased it.

A bad battery can certainly cause power problems like that, even if you're plugged in. If removing the battery fixed it, you need a new battery. :)

My laptop wont turn on and yet its fully charge. The power light keeps on blinking with orange and when i push the start button, it turns green and when i stop pushing, it turns orange again-blinking.

Hi.

This sounds like there is a problem with the battery.
Remove the AC mains power and take out the battery from the laptop. Plug AC power back in and try booting the laptop up.
If it boots up let it boot into Windows/linux and then shut the computer down as normal. Remove AC power and re-insert the battery. Plug AC back in and power it up, see if it does the same thing. If it does the same thing the battery is faulty. If it boots up with the battery in then there was a glitch.

Regards.

When I turn on my toshiba satellite 5005-S504, it will go through the motions of boot-up, then it will suddenly shut it's self off then turn it's self back on. It won't stay on. Please help.

restart your pc but as soon as it powers on (even before you see anything on the screen), repeatedly tap on f8 until it takes you to a menu. choose the option for last known good configuration. if it still doesnt boot up, repeat the same procedure but this time choose the option for safe mode then once it boots to safe mode, just do a system restore

I think I have had a bad update. Mine boots to Step # of update do not turn off then says shutting down and keeps repeating. i have tried to reboot to last sucessful date and it fails? HELP!!!!!

Boot into safe mode and undo the updates through Windows Update. You can boot into safe mode by continuously pressing the f8 key on your keyboard right after you turn the laptop on, and then select Safe Mode from the menu.

Wont turn on.. battery light just keeps falshing

Hi,

Thanks for using FixYa.

You have a dead battery if your battery light just keeps on flashing and your laptop only works when plugged in to the A/C. Try to take out the battery and plug your laptop in to A/C. See if it works. You might be one of the unlucky ones who got a lemon battery. Several users have enountered the same exact problem. This is an Aspire one issue. Try to contact acer and see if they will send you a new battery right away. I hope this helps.

Thanks and have a nice day.

Laptop ?

First try to boot in the safe mode, by repeatedly pressing the F8 key. If it boots into the safe mode, press the start button, shut down then select restart. If it will not boot normally then, repeat booting in the safe mode and once booted go to programs/accessorys/system tools/restore the select a restore point date that the computer was functioning correctly and restore for that date. If it will not boot the safe mode restart the computer with the system cd disk and restore from it. BPCS
