So the resolution or refreshrate is out of range, and the settings need to be lowered. When the computer is starting up, before the windows logo comes up, tap repeatedly on F8 to get Advanced start up options on the screen.

Select VGA mode from the list and press enter, the computer should start up in a lower setting and you should see picture, then you can right click on your desktop and select properties, then click on the last tab - settings, and adjust the resolution to 1024x768 or similiar, but not too high or the problem will return.

if this doesn't work I would recommend that you try another display with this computer and the problem display with another computer to narrow down the problem and see if the screen is faulty.

When i put pc on this message comes up on screen saying input not supported and it floats round in a little box.

Hello,
This generally means you have the display resolution set higher then the monitor can support. To fix this press F8 after you turn the computer on. You may have to press it a couple times before the windows loading screen. A black menu will come up. Select safe mode. Your PC will load into safe mode with minimal drivers and settings. Go to the control panel and select display. Change your screen resolution to something lower then the setting is is at right now. If your screen is 19" or smaller try a setting of 1024x768 for starters. If its 20" or higher try 1280x1024 for starters.

My laptop screen is blurry?

Generally this issue occurs when the screen resolution is not set to the optical resolution that the screen is designed to run. 1200x800, 1366 x900, 1920 x 1200 etc. Many people try to run at a lower resolution to make items on the screen larger, this normally causes the display to be blurry as the pixel count is hard wired and this causes lower resolutions to blur

The screen doesn't show the whole image, it is to wide, to tall, so there is no upper and lower toolbar, same on sides. I tried with the screen control on lower front of the monitor, but it is not enough.

your screen resolution must be changed to a lower MHz...
go to Control Panel/Dislay/Display properties/Settings/Screen Resolution/
here try a lower/higher resolution
then else try Advanced option there and set a lower setting there under the General Tab and Monitor Tabs.....
some hit and trial may solve th issue...be sure NOT to chose the wrong setting as that may cause hard to your monitor

Computer screen says imput not supported what do i do?

i believe at boot you should hold f8 for advanced booting options, and then select safe mode, which will start the computer in a lower resolution graphix. from there, set the resolution down on the display. right click on the desktop and select properties or personalize, then look for the display setings for screen resolution. its prolly set to 1680 x 1050, and needs to be set to something around 1280x768 or something: maybe its set to a different aspect ration or just plain different size.

Connecting lenovo t61 with samsung ln40a650

The LN40A650 supports 1920x1080 resolution from VGA. I know this because I've done it. It will also support lower resolutions, but certainly not higher. Drop your resolution to something low like 640x480, plug into the LN40A650, then up the resolution to 1920x1080. If this doesn't work it's 1 of 2 problems. It could be the refresh rate. Go to your display settings, click on Advanced, choose the Monitor tab, and set the screen refresh rate to 60Hz. If this still doesn't work it means your video card won't support that high of a resolution.
