DESCRIPTION Customer reports general USB failures such as:

• Dropped communications
• Failure to identify the attached USB devices
• Windows produces a Blue Screen communicating to a PDA device.

SCOPE:
This is a known Microsoft USB issue and is not limited to HP products.
DETAILS Microsoft has released updated USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 solutions for Windows XP and Windows for Tablet PC.
To obtain the above solutions, Install hot fix 822603 from Windows Updates or download the update from Microsoft Web site: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;822603 .
