I am trying to watch a video from recent television. i have tried watching it on bbciplayer and you tube but the sound is distorted when it plays

In the beginning try replacing or updating your driver software for your audio device. If this does not work out try replacing your speakers. If this does not work out either than you have replace the sound card.
If all other Videos sound is not distorted than may be the video that you are trying to watch from YouTube and bbc player are probably from the same source

Good Luck!

Hi I have a Dell inspiron 1520 and the sound has suddenly started to distort, this also causes videos to keep freezing when the sound distorts

Try reinstalling the sound drivers. For the video try using The Klite mega codec pack...Hope this helps...

First thing to try is updating your sound driver.

Visit Acer's support page, find your model, download the software, install. test.

My Zune's video's audio, sounds muffled and kinda distorted.

You could try downloading the K-Lite Codec pack that you can find free on-line. Most video problems are caused by a corrupt Codec.

Sound distortion

Try updating the drivers for your sound card. Online tutorials available at ms http://support.microsoft.com/?LN=eng by searching your OS + update hardware drivers.
I'd also check at www.hp.com support for your notebook and see if there are any newer firmware releases for the sound installed on your system.

Monitor freezes up with multicolor wording or distorted images

Sounds to me like a few possible things...

1) Bad connection to the monitor, check the cable connection, if you see or suspect any damage, buy a new monitor or test with a friend's monitor.

2) Video card could be bad, if it has a video card, you could simply buy a new card to see if it will fix the problem. If the video port is attached to the motherboard (meaning onboard video), the motherboard could be damaged.

3) The motherboard could be bad. Sometimes fried motherboards will garble the screen like this on bootup.

Video and Audio Freeze

Sounds like a slow internet connection. Try pausing the video until it has buffered at least halfway and then play again.

Hope this helps,

erch.

Can't hold a picture

Your problem while watching cable tv sounds like a bad tuner with little or no adjacent channel rejection. The problem with the DVD and I think to some extent the cable sounds like a video processing problem. This unit has digital video circuits and could easily cause the problem you describe. The easiest and probably the cheapest solution would be to replace the board with a refurbed unit. Two companies which sell refurbed boards are PTS Electronics, Bloomington, IN (www.ptsinc.com) and Tri-State Module, Evansville, IN (www.tristatemodule.com). Good luck.
