Question about Sony Computers & Internet
Code 22 -This device is disabled. (Code 22) is a common problem with CD/DVD roms using windows OS. You can right click your My Computer and choose Manage. Window will pop up. From the left panel, click on Device Manager. From the right panel, expand the DVD / CD-ROM drives and select or click your Sony DVD RW-G120A. Then from the menu above, click Action, and then click Enable Device. This starts the Enable Device wizard. Follow the instructions.
However if the Device Manager shows your a "yellow question mark" in your DVD/CD-ROM, then you need to update the driver.
Should you have other questions or need further assistance, please let me know.

This problem is mostly due to third party application which recently might have been uninstalled or installed. You don't need drivers for the CD/DVD drives. They aren't even recognized unless you have a non-Microsoft burning program. Those programs are worth updating. Find out what burning software you have-- I recommend downloading Belarc advisor, a free program which not only tells you everything in your computer, with model numbers for hardware and all of your software (with their unique codes), but will also inform you if you are missing any needed Windows updates. Once you know what you have, if it came with the computer, you have to seek an upload at the computer manufacturers website, as it maybe a special program not related to the burning software purchased from the software manufacturer--in that case, go to their website for upgrades. Check config.sys in control panel to see if you have a problem with anything. One more warning; if you have problems, some unethical computer manufacturers are selling Visa with only 5112 MG RAM and an M chip, not even dual core. People generally agree that you will have all kinds of woe unless you upgrade to at least 1 GB, and 2 are best. If still the issue is not resolved then you have to do a firmware update.
Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.
