Projection T.V. will not operate?

I was watching my Hitatchi Ultravision Model #55UX58B when there was a slight but audible pop sound after which the T.V. went off. It would not come back on after several attempts to turn it back on via remote and manually with the off-on button on the set? I subsequently removed the back and unplugged the set. After a short time, when I plugged it back in, there were several green LED lights that came on, then another, after which they all went off. There was a slight audio sound that seemed to present at the same time whigh also went off.

You will need to check E994, E996, D722, Q777, I901 some or one of these may get your set back going. If not you will need to record what LED's come on first and goes off first. It matters, because it tells techs what is wrong with set.

It sounds like it is a mechanical problem (i think the ray tube broke)

it looks like the tv needs to be professionally repaired or replaced

your equipment is burned by an electricity discharge.. there is a tiny posibility that there is some sort of fuse there that you can change so it works.

Hitatchi Ultravision rear projection **NO POWER ***

Usually, when there is no sound, it is because something is not set right in the menu. The fact that the set has shut off completely is quite common in that set. There is a little blue capacitor next to the horizontal output transistor that burns up and blows the small main B+ fuse. Those parts should be replaced by a qualified tech experienced in the Hitachi projection sets who will also check the settings in the menu to get the sound back.
