It's also possible the impeller has failed. Have you ever seen small squares of white plastic lying in the bottom of the washer? Or in your disposal? Those are impeller blades. Mine slowly broke some of them until it would no longer pump water through the washer arm. I replaced the impeller ($50) and it works good as new.

How do I stop water from coming out of sprinkler heads after the pump cuts off

There will be water come out of the heads for a few min after they shut off to bleed the pressure off there is no way to stop it you might turn your system timer down a little

My sprinkler head is stuck spaying in one spot and I can't figure out how to adjust the range and distance of it.

Sounds like you have a bucket impact sprinkler. These are problematic as they tend to beat themselves into non-operation from the moving parts involved and the impacts. They stop turning for a number of reasons, low water pressure, dirt and debris filling the bucket impeding rotation, plants covering the sprinkler etc. If no debris is found and others continue to work on same zone the water pressure is probably unchanged it may just be tired. I suggest replacing it using a pop-up rotor preferably a Hunter PGP-ADJ or PGJ-ADJ Rotor as rotors have only 1 moving part a gear which is sealed inside the sprinkler making them very dependable.

I have a lawn sprinkler valve that stays on constantly even after I unplug it from the control box . Why would it continue to work with out power ?

Because its a valve your right but the power is what closes it,Sometimes you can tap on the side of valve body(it has to be hooked up with power)pretty hard,I use the handle of screwdriver or loosen screws then tighten if that don't work you will have to replace cylinode and or diaphragm.

I have an aquamate pump and when i connect it to a continuous sprinkler it stops and starts contiuously

The pump is putting out too much water for the sprinkler.
You can raise the pump shut off pressure at the switch until it is higher than the pressure that the pump runs at with the sprinkler operating. You should have a surge tank connected to the system to give the pump time to balance with the sprinkler.
You can use more water with the sprinkler. This could mean adding another sprinkler or increasing the nozzle size of the existing sprinkler.

Sprinkler head does not spray water

Make sure when you pull the head to ck the screen you turn the system on and blow out the line, then run a hose through the head to make sure it isn't plugged up anyway. Depending on the head and the cost of a new one will dictate cleaning or replacement.

Why does my timer not shut off completely? After the timing cycle completes, there is still water coming out of the sprinkler head. This does not happen for each cycle, just on occassion.

It may be getting some trash caught in the valve, try purchasing a filter washer, commonly used on washing machines and use it to trap any sediment.

Brass Champion Sprinkler Valve

The lowest sprinkler head usually leaks until all the water is out of the system. The valve that controls the sprinkler system has a vaccum breaker valve on it. When there is no pressure from the water main the vaccum valve opens allowing the sprinklers to leak water so the house water won't get contaminated from the grass and dirt in your yard.
