Need to delete my user name off the Hand held. HOW?

I have no ALT key on the hand held device, so not sure what you are saying.

This is NOT a WEB CAMERA problem...where did that come from????

I have a Tungsten T5 Palm. I need to delete my user name FROM the device.

I recently had a VERY band CRASH, and when I got it back up, EVERYTHING was gone....and as it was restarting, it asked about 2 names. I chose to delet the wrong name.

My device is now like BRAND new. ALL is gone off the device and I can't get the stuff from the computer into it because of the name problem.

The user name can be deleted by two ways.
1. Using a third party software by colin mulliner which can allow you to delete user name directly.
2.All Palm OS handhelds share the same hidden mechanism for deleting the user name.

  1. Open the Memo Pad application on your handheld.
  2. Tap New.
  3. Enter the ShortCut character. Note: For keyboard devices, type the letter s and then press the Alt key. Then select the shorcut symbol from the list of alternate characters.
  4. Enter a period '.'
  5. Enter the number 5. Whether you entered the shortcut character, period and 5 correctly or not, the characters you've entered will disappear and the memo pad will remain blank.
To see if the method worked you will have to go to "Application Launcher".
Launch Hotsync application
Your user name appears in the upper right corner of the screen: if it's blank, then your user name has been deleted. The next time you HotSync with this device, you will be asked to create a new user name.

else you may have to perform a hard reset for which you will have to follow the procedure given in the link below.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I want to remove a second id but keep my main id account

Go to Administrative Tools --> Computer Management. On the left hand side you should see Local Users and Groups. Click users. In the main it will list the local users for your computer. Just right click the user name and select delete. BTW, you cannot delete the user that you are signed in as. You will need to be signed in under a separate user than the one you wish to delete. Given that your description states that you are wanting to remove a secondary account then I don't see any of this being an issue.

Remove User Accounts from the Login Screen in Windows XP
So you login to your computer every single day, but there’s morethan one account to choose from… either because you got the computerfrom somebody else, or some software package added a user account thatyou really don’t want to see. So how do we hide that other account fromthe login screen?
There’s a simple registry that you can do to hide accounts fromthe login screen, or you could alternatively delete the user account ifyou really don’t need it. Both methods are listed below.

Open up regedit.exe through the start menu Run box, and then navigate down to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NT
CurrentVersionWinlogonSpecialAccountsUserList
On the right-hand side you’ll see a list of keys that correspond touser accounts that are considered “Special” and are not to be shown onthe login screen

Create a new DWORD value with the same name as the user name thatyou want to hide. You’ll note that the actual username in theillustration was “OtherPerson” and not the description that was shownon the login screen.
To unhide the account, simply delete the registry key that you created.

The next time you log off you’ll see that the other account is gone.
Hide User Account with Tweak UI
You can also use the Microsoft Tweak UI PowerToy to do the same thing. (Thanks to Gustav for reminding me to include this)

Just click on the Logon key in the left hand side, and then uncheck the box for “Show <username> on Welcome screen”
Login to Hidden Account
You can still login to the account even though it’s not shown… You’ll just have to use a little trick.
At the login screen, just hit the Ctrl+Alt+Delete combination twicein a row, and you’ll be presented with the old-school login screen, where you have to manually enter the username.

Type the name and password of the other user, and login.
Delete User Account
Alternatively you can always delete the user account if you areabsolutely sure that you don’t need that user account anymore.Right-click on “My Computer” and choose “Manage”

Navigate down through “Local Users and Groups” and then Users, and thenlocate the username in the list that you’d like to get rid of.

Just right-click and choose Delete. Note that this step cannot bereversed, so make sure you only delete accounts you really really don’twant anymore. If you are unsure, you can just hide them using the firstoption above.

Bought a laptop of someone the make is a dell i will describe to you everything it has written on it top left hand corner it says Inspiron 6400 with a button next to it saying media direct in the bottom...

You are asking a whole lot here.
From what I understand, you are running Windows XP. The previous owner has not removed his name from the system.
You want your name to show up as a user.
You want the previous owner's info gone.

Do this:
Go to the control panel and to the Users icon. Create a new user (you) as an admin.
Now log off of Windows and log back on as you. Go back to the control panel and the users icon.
Click on the previous owner's name and choose "delete account." Do not save the data. Just choose delete.
This will delete the user and all his data.
This should do it for now.

To delete a user you must be login as another user and select the user you want to delete and press triangle then delete

Once that's done you can make a new PSN account for your new user name to go online.

I need to delete the main user so i can get plugins and downloads.

Chances are you only need to make your current user an Admin user.
Try the following:

Hold down on the Apple in the upper left-hand corner of your screen.

1. Select System Preferences

2. Click on the Accounts icon

a. If the paddle lock is closed click on it to open it (This requires the admin user name and password)

3. Click your User name (if underneath your name it shows Standard)

4. Then click in the "Allow user to administer this computer" if the box is empty.

If that does not work give a little more detail about what you are trying to do.

If you can get in with administrator privileges, you would go to Control Panel, Users or Manage User Accounts, select target account and disable it or delete it. Exact procedures will depend on OS version you are using.

By mistake i lost one of my frnds yahoo id.means i deleted the contact frm my msnger list .i want his id back help me.

if the yahoo id/user name was deleted from the Yahoo Messenger itself, you just need to type it in the User Name box and its password to sign in with it. Deleting the user name from the messenger program does not actually delete/cancel the account for it.
