How to fix error code 150-3039 on wiiu

Error Code: 150-3039 means there is a problem with with your external storage device. It is most common when you are using an external hard drive that does not have a separate dedicated power supply. It either isn't getting enough power or the hard drive has other problems. Try powering off your Wii U, disconnecting your external HDD, and running the system without the drive. It should work. Then power off and reconnect your external drive. If you receive the error message again then you should look into getting new external storage. Hi there, I have a Toshiba external HDD 250GB that is giving me some problems and need some urgent help! When I plug my external HDD into my laptop everything seems to work fine. The lights come on, the...

It sounds as though your issue is one of in adequate power. Do both the external HDD have their own power source, or are they powered through USB? if they are powered through USB it may be that as soon as the second drive spins up to transfer the files, it overwhelms the limited power of the laptop. You can try it with the laptop plugged in (though this may not provide it with more power than the battery) or by purchasing a usb hub with its own external power source so that it is not drawing power from the laptop, or purchase an external hard drive with its own power source
The other option is simpler and free, and its to copy the files first to your laptops own HDD, then unplug the source external hard drive, and then plug in the drive you want to copy to, then transfer the files from your laptops hard drive. This will of course take twice as long, but will cost you nothing.

My book essential has worked for several months now til now.... the white light is just blinking and my computer doesntg seem to recognize it anymore what should i do?

From the user manual (click here) on page 4, the slow blinking means that the drive is in standby mode.
The user manual does not explain how to get the drive out of standby mode, but you may want to try the procedure for powering off the drive that is on page 34 that say to press the power button on the back of the unit and wait for the LEDs to turn off.
If the unit does not power-off on its own within a few minutes of pressing the power button, the next thing to do is the following:
Shut down your computer with the drive still connected and powered-up. Once the computer is completely powered-down (no lights on or noise coming from the computer, unplug the power cord of the external USB hard drive and wait a minute. After you've waited a minute with the external USB hard drive unplugged from power, plug the power cord back in to the external USB hard drive Make sure the USB cable from the drive to the computer is properly connected. Power-up your computer using the power button on the computer and let the computer boot as usual. Once the computer has booted, check whether the external USB hard drive is now available.

Do I need only one cord (usb) to connect to my laptop?

The "physically-smaller" external hard-drives draw power through the USB cable.
The "physically-larger" external hard-drives require an external power-supply (just like a laptop requires an external power-supply).

Check the casing for a plug where the electrical power would come in; if none, then the unit will draw electrical power through the USB cable.
