SOURCE: RIFLE SCOPE STUCK ON 8x POWER

If the scope's minimum power isn't 8x then it's broken. Call the customer service rep of the company and see how you can return it. Depending on the warranty they may fix it or replace it. I'm not familiar with Balfor as I don't shoot BB guns. You can move the ring around a bit, see if something loosens up, but don't force it.

SOURCE: leakin air cylinder on my daisey model 3880 bb gun rifle

The o-ring or gasket is worn and can't take more pressure after the 5th or 6th pump, you should be able to get a gasket kit for it from your retailer. Hope that helps!

If the trigger is adjustable set it more coarse to hook the piston rod. Make sure trigger is loose and will reset to it foremost position. Check trigger spring and pin for ease op operation. Lastly check if piston rod did not turn inside cylinder so hook is turned away from trigger.

SOURCE: rifle scope fogging

You can try to clear this your self. You will need a good sized clear plastic bag, say kitchen trashed can size. You will need to get your hands on some nitrogen or you can also use carbon dioxide. You will need some good electrical contact grease or Vaseline will also work. Take the focus lens off your scope, let it dry out. Now ck for any o-rings and try to find new if you can, put the grease on the screw threads.Put all the scope parts in the bag and pump up the bag with your nitrogen and tie off the bag but leave room so you can screw the lens back on once it has set for a little bit in the gas. This should let gas stay inside the scope so no moisture can get back inside to fog it up. Try that, sounds crazy but it will work.

Does the TC Omega have a problem using 150 grains of blackpowder or its' eqivalent?

Hello jps.... No problem at all with 150 grains. In fact, that is the spec. max. amount. The Thompson Center Omega Z5 was designed with simplicity in mind. It is easy to shoot and easy to clean. The breech seals the 209 primer from rain and snow and is easy to open with a simple forward motion of the lever on the trigger guard. The sealed breech plug design also prevents the crushing of Pyrodex pellets. The Z5 can handle a powder load of up to 150 grains for more power or longer range shooting.

Technical Information

Notes:
  • Exposed hammer
  • Sling swivel studs
  • Rubber recoil pad
  • Fiber optic sights
  • Blue chrome-moly steel with a silver weatherguard finish

Windage and elevation adjustment all over the place

Sounds like you want to "re-sight" in your rifle. Make sure mounts are okay and tight. Look down barrel and then thru scope and eyeball windage and elevation adjustments so the scope seems to be fairly in line.

Clean barrel if it needs it.

For basic sight in, start at 25 yards with a large(3 to 4 feet) cardboard or wood backdrop around target (bullseye). Fire at target. Once done, look through scope and position rifle such that the shot mark you created is dead zero. Hold rifle very steady and you or buddy move windage and elevation adjustments until scope moves dead zero back toward original target (bullseye). Fine tune from there. Air cool rifle between rounds. Once dead eye, fire another round or two to check grouping. Check your ballistics (sometimes on ammo box) to see how height at 25 yards affects your desired dead on target (100 yards, 150 yards, 250 yards etc.). Adjust accordingly. Example: you may need to sight in at an inch high at 25 yards, depending on your dead on target distance..

Always remove sling from barrel when sighting in.

Try to sight in at similar temperature as you intended shooting temperatures, if possible.

If not black powder, avoid cleaning barrel between sight in and hunt/competition unless you note bad buildup inside.

If you change ammo, understand that that may affect performance. Once a preferred ammo is found, some even try to buy a decent quantity with the same lot number on the boxes if storage allows for such.
