Question about Lenovo IdeaPad Y510 Notebook

My battery in my Y510 Ideapad shows full charge but when I go to unplug my power cord the computer shuts down as if there is no battery in it. Is there any way to diagnose this problem? I always keep it plugged in and never drain the battery. The computer is only 18 months old...

Check your power settings in windows set it for max run also Sounds like your battery shows the volts but no capacity 18 mo old this is very close to a replacement sugest aftermarket ebay battery Usualy when you do not run down lithium batteries they become unstable this means some of the cells in the battery hold less of a charge than others in the pack so this is the weakest link senario so you get the volts but when you put a draw volt brop right off and the computer shuts down. some times they can be reconditioned so all the cells hold the same cap but there is no warranty and cost about half of what a replacement battery cost. shop around.

My laptop is not charging. i plug the power in but still doenst charge. im not sure if its on the power cords or on the laptop please help asap i need my laptop for school :(

Does the laptop work on AC ? Is the battery or cord/charged a replacement? First, try another cord/charger of the EXACT same specs as original. Second, Is the battery good? How old? Over 4 years? Have it tested. Beware of inexpensive aftermarket batteries and cord/chargers. I assume the laptop works on AC? If you unplug the AC , with battery in, the laptop shuts down immediately?

My lenovo y510 power is sometime not working.

Check the DC Power Jack where the Power Cord Plugs into the laptop.

Maybe your DC Power Jack which is where the power cord plugsinto the computer is bad. Take an ink pen and push the tip inside thejack and see if the little pin wiggles, if so the jack is bad. You'll have totake the laptop apart to fix it. Most times it is soldered onto themotherboard, so you will have to desolder the old and solder a new one.

Lenovo g550 turns off when power supply is disconnected ,battery shows fully charged

Replace the battery, it's faulty.

Batteries only have a useful life, then they have to be replaced. Sounds like yours is doing like the ink cartridges, where they register as being full of ink when actually there is no ink in the cartridge.

Hi,i am using lenovo ideapad y510 the screen will not displaying what is the problem

Hi. If the laptop is turning on then try draining the electrostatic enerygy of the motherboard. Take out the battery and unplugged the power cord from the wall socket. Press nad hold the power button for 30 sces to drain the electrostactic energy. Put everything back in after 30 sces and turn ON the computer. If still same problem then this could be a LCD problem. You may call lenovo technical support at 1-877-453-6686 then press option 3 if you want to have the issue repaired.

Lenovo Ideapad Y510 won't turn on or off

try removing the battery and removing the adaptor press and hold down the power button for 5-10 seconds then let got this will power drain your system board noy turn the system on using the battery only without any adaptors to charge or power the system, try turning the system on if the system turnes on leave it turned on for a couple of hours then conenct your sysem adaptor monitor if the battery light and the battery indicator on the lower right of the screen in windows woll indicate that the system is chargin if it is then I believe everything should be fine the blue indicator is for your system if it is blue then your system is turned on and has power if it turned orange and blnking then the battery will be more likely be almost out of juice or may need charging.

Have you tried a different battery. When the system is on, please check your battery settings to see if it is fully charged. Go to Start/Control Panel/Power Options and the very last tab.

This should tell you how much battery power is in. If it is very low it means that your battery is not getting a full charge and this could be the cause of your problem.

Let me know how it goes. Don't forget to vote for me.
