Either you deleted the OS or your hard drive is bad check in BIOs And see if the hard drive is showing if it is then you have deleted your OS somehow.you will need the disk to reinstall.

Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Operating system not found

hi goodner,

getting the error "operating system not found" means that the hard drive where the Operating System is installed (i.e. Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7), Cannot be found by you BIOS upon the boot sequence.

When you turn the PC/Laptop, you normal see a screen that flashes flashes with screen that displays the ff:

Primary Master:
Primary Slave:
Secondary Master:
Secondary Slave:

The Primary master should have a value right next to it. If not, either the hard drive is faulty and needs replacement, cable is loose,

If you have a value to it and stil gets the same error the operating is corrupted and needs to be re-installed.

My laptop reads "operating system

When you "boot" your computer, it tries to read from all the "bootable" devices:
* diskette
* CD/DVD
* disk-drive
* USB memory-stick

for which the BIOS SETUP has listed as "bootable" devices.

If it cannot read the "boot" information from _ANY_ of those devices, it reports "operating system not found".

So, enter BIOS SETUP, and ensure that your disk-drive *IS* "detected" (i.e., not "dead")
and that it is "enabled" as one of the boot-devices.

The most-likely (and most-disasterous) cause is that your disk-drive has "died",
and the Windows operating system could not be read from the device.

Take your computer to a qualified technician, for professional trouble-shooting.
If you have the original "System Restore" set of CDs, take them, too.

Operating System Not Found on VAIO Laptop

The disk-drive inside the computer has ceased to function (or has ceased to have connected "power" and "data" connections) -- thus, the Operating System cannot be read from the disk-drive.

Take the computer to a qualified technician; there's nothing that you can do "inside" your computer.

Cannot Read disk. Operating system not found Error

best way to solve it and recover your data is to take it to the vendor else you can use dos to copy it to your pen drive...lets understand 1st why a vendor can only work with it because its a laptop and the hard disk can not be accessed externally like with a desktop...so dont play with your critical data hope this will help u a lot...
cheers...pls rate...

Cant get to home page

Your laptop doesn't recognised hdd.
You should go to bios to see if your hdd is there.
if you don't see your hdd in the bios, most of the time is harddrive problem (dead).
In this case, you can replace your hdd.
but if you see your hdd and you get PXE-E61 error message, your OS might be corrupted.
