Question about Sharp Audio Players & Recorders
How can I regain control of my Sharp CD MPX880 System
My Sharp mini component system cd-mpx880 has the timer light flashing 1 long and 4 short flashes. The system is totally unresponsive to any button selection either manual or remote.
The control board is most likely faulty. It will have to be tested. You can use a test light, and an ohmmeter.

You have by mistake and pre programmed it. this activates the timer so it won't do anything until it reaches the date and time it is programed for. And does whatever it was set to do on that date. The best way to fix is. Unplug it and leave for 24 hours before plugging it in again. The off buttton probably doesnt work but if it does still unplug it because power to the unit will keep it programmed. The reason you will need to leave it for 24hr's is it may have a a backup charge in the system good enough to keep the setting's for that long. You may be able to plug it in sooner but run the risk of it still being programmed and not alone the problem being unsolved it will have backed up more power and you will have to wait again. Cheer's
