Question about HP PSC 1315 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I'll guide you to how to get your needed software from HP Support.
First, I would like to ask that you have the printer disconnected from your computer. (USB cable)
Also have the printer turned off, and unplugged from power. (Surge protector)
This is HP Support, and the main page for the HP PSC 1315 All-In-One InkJet Printer,
1.On this page you will see the heading - Software and Driver Downloads. Click on this heading.
2.On the following page you are asked to choose your Operating System. Vista, or Vista 64 bit.
If you know for sure that your Vista version is 64 bit, then choose Vista 64 bit.
However it doesn't matter.
Both versions of Vista, (Vista 32 bit and Vista 64 bit) use the same version of HP Full Feature Software.
[ Date: 09-2009 Version: 080.001.237.001 ]
(This is due to the fact, that some programs are designed to operate both on a 32 bit operating system, and a 64 bit operating system. It's up to the program manufacturer, and in this case, HP has made it so that their Full Feature Software complies with the above. Operates on Vista 32bit, and Vista 64bit)
3.After you have chosen which operating system by clicking on it, you are taken to the appropriate Compatible Software and Drivers page.
4.On this page you will see the heading - Driver, in blue.
Down below it you will see - HP Full Feature Software and Drivers
Left-click on it.
5.On the next page you will see a blue rectangular square with Download Only >> in it, in the upper left corner. Click on it.
6.A small rectangular window will pop-up to the right.
In the window click on - Save File
7.You should now see a download status bar. Let the file download all the way.
8.If you do not have your downloads set to go to your Documents folder, this file will go to your desktop screen.
Double-click on the file name. Follow the simple instructions of the Installation Wizard.
(When it shows you where the file is going to be put, do not make any changes. It will put the file in the appropriate place it's supposed to go)
When the Installation Wizard is finished, you may be asked to restart your computer. If you are not asked, do so at this time.
After Vista has reloaded and is running, plug the USB cable of your PSC 1315 printer into your computer.
Now plug the printer into power. Wait 30 seconds. Then turn the printer on.
Should you have problems with this, please come back and post.
