Blackscreen problem when viewing pictures it will show 5 to 10 pictures and then a blackscreen will appear. however, the computer will still be working.

Hi,
If you move backwards in your picture viewing program of choice, (eg Irfanview, ACDSee or the inbuilt windows picture viewing program) does the previous picture work Ok?
If so, it maybe that the picture that is next in order is corrupted. ie it will make the screen go 'black'. if the picture works one time but not another time, its not the picture file at fault.
If you look at the folder with the View options set to Thumbnail, do all the pictures appear OK? ie in miniature?
Does the screen play up when playing a game or doing something else? If so, then the graphics chip on your laptop motherboard maybe on its way out. if you are lucky, that model laptop may have a replaceable graphics card. See the Dell forums for help, or give Dell a ring.
Cheers,
Steve (Melbourne, Australia)

have you tried a system restore to get your resolution back?

You may then try to take a different path in fixing your problem.

if you cant system restore try installing the previous driver you had.

could you post up what your "computer problems" were exactly?

the more info the better*

We may know another solution for it other than updating your driver and losing you resolution options
