its a holden commodore vx with a factory immobiliser.the alarm has a wire for immobiliser bypass dont know if i can use that so i dont have to disable the factory one so i can use the remote start feature. i have the alarm diagram and my body control module chart but i dont know if that chart is enough thanks

  • m_m3911 Sep 27, 2009

its a holden commodore vx 2002. someone told me that i have to diasable the factory immobiliser in order to use the alarm remote start feature so i have to disable it

  • m_m3911 Sep 27, 2009

i told you 3 times:) (HOLDEN COMMODORE VX 2002) model

  • m_m3911 Sep 27, 2009

you mean the key i use to start the car? that has a lock and unlock button ?

  • m_m3911 Sep 27, 2009

so my key has a chip it. some other guy said to follow the immobiliser wire and take the fuse out. i dont think thats possible

  • m_m3911 Sep 27, 2009

ok so if the alarm has a bypass immobiliser wire on it where do i connect it? but the thing is i heard that its better to disable the immobiliser because it wont be good in the long run? not sure if thats a fact but anyway. If i email you the alarm diagram and the body control module chart you think we can join the wires or do we need other wires apart from the body control module ones to make it work. Im not sure if the bcm contains all wiring to make the alarm function properly though

  • m_m3911 Sep 27, 2009

i dont think i have it unless the old owner had something like that put in which i doubt and how would i know if the car has a factory immobiliser in for sure?

  • m_m3911 Sep 27, 2009

my friend i forgot to tell you its a copy of a chevy haha your the best the australians copied it haha.i just went outside and checked under the dashboard and above the fuses theres this little black box with a black wire connecting to it running under the steering wheel and across the middle somewere.i locked myself in the car and waited a bit and after 20 seconds this tick came out of that black box i think and the the little red led started flashing again.would that be the immobiliser or am i full off subject

  • m_m3911 Sep 27, 2009

is there a chance thats an aftermarket immobiliser which we can pull out? by the way i have a low series B.C.M if that helps

  • m_m3911 Sep 27, 2009

    really good help thank you

okay i couldn't find it in my alldata! never heard of that car. i need to know how the immobilizer work to help you. does it have a chip in the key?

  • michael schultz
    michael schultz Sep 27, 2009

if it does then the alarm will ot bypass it you will need a seperate bypass made to work with your caar. they have a few different style ones! the older style will take a key to use it. the there are programmable ones that tie right into the imobizer module and make the car think the key is in the ignition when remote starting. the wire on the alarm is what goes to the bypass unit made to wor with your car.

the ignition key you use to turn the car on with

  • michael schultz
    michael schultz Sep 27, 2009

no you can't takee the fuse out because there shouldn't be a fuse that works with that circuit and if there was and you did the car wouldn't start. so yes the key most likely hasa chip inside. i just never heard of your car/ where is it made? is it sold in the usa? i wish i knew i could tell you for sure what to do. but how all cars i work on do it the same way so i am assuming this car is the ame. most likely is. the key sends a signal to the body module and anti theft module to let the car know the corrct key is in the ignition and to allow the car to start. if not is doesn't start. so the bypass sends that signal instead of the key when the remote start in activated and it does that throug that wire for the bypass on the alarm

well if you just use the aarm you don't need anything else. but if you want the remote start to work you nee anothr unit that is made for you vehicle to trick the imoblizer for the time it is being remote started and only when it is being remote started. do you have that unit/

i just figured you car out. it's a chevy! i love chevy and know alot about the. so your car most ikely like it's counter part has a passlock anti theft system 1 , 2 or 3 depending on hw thy make there cars. but no metter what it is the styesystem i was describing to you earleir. so you need a bypass for a pass lock system. it ties in at the ingnition by a small loop of a wire used as an antenna transmitter and then it get power ground and a few wires from the alarm to tll it when to activate because the remor\te sarter is activating.

easy if you have done it before. if not then you may want to pay someone to do it because it is very stress full tring to figure it out. do you think you can do it/ and can you get that bypss i am taalking abot? you can purchase them at the place they sell the alarm or ny place tht sells car alarms. you go there tey ask you want car and they give you the one that works for your car. they all tie into to eachother

What each colourvwiringis for in vx ,2002,Commodore

The Holden Commodore (VX) is an executive car that was produced by the Australian manufacturer Holden from 2000 to 2002. It was the second iteration of the third generation of this Australian made model. Its range included the luxury variants, Holden Berlina (VX) and Holden Calais (VX), and it formed the basis for a new generation Holden Ute (VU) coup? utility and Holden Monaro (V2) coup?.
The VX series was produced between October 2000 and September 2002, as a minor restyling update to the VT series from 1997. It introduced greater model differentiation along with gains in crash safety. An intermediate Series II was launched in August 2001, featuring a revised suspension system among other changes.

Thanks,

Landon

My battery went flat and I jump started my car (Holden VT) now my stereo is locked. Dose anybody know how to unlock it. It's a eurovox radio unit.

Samantha, You need the VIN and the radio serial number. Take those into a Holden dealer to get the radio code and programming instructions from the dealer. They may want a small fee for the #. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Does a triumph speed trip 955i 2000,have an alarm and immobiliser fitted as standard

I have a 2001 tiger 955i, the wiring loom on that is set up to accept the fitting of a factory alarm I believe manufactured by datatool. On mine this is under the seat cowl. It will have only been fitted if it was fitted at new or a later owner decided to fit it.
I believe a Talon alarm ( http://www.talonalarms.com/ )may be a straight fit.

I used some of the wiring and modified the loom to fit a spy alarm from http://www.cyclonealarms.co.uk/

Take your old key along with your new keys to a locksmith or holden dealer and ask them to transfer the data from one **** to the other. Mr Minit doesnt do it. He only sells they keys.

Holden vx commodore immobiliser

to fix the key you need a screw driver to pry the to halves of the key casing apart (make sure you have a spare set) taking care not to damage the internal electronic component board, because this electronic circuit board (cct bd) is powered by a 3 volt battery (which is also used to run the bios on computers) can be purchased for about 3 dollars from **** smiths, you need a small pair of side cutters to cut the metal tag connections between the battery and the cct bd taking care to note which is the positive and negative tracks on the cct bd, then using a soldering iron desolder the metal tag connections from the cct bd take care not to damage the copper tracks on the cct bd, try to use the proper desoldering technique (the copper gauze or a suction gun) to remove excess solder from the metal tags because they need to be removed, when the tags are removed from the cct bd there is a small hole on each copper track for the positive and negative reconnections to the newly purchased battery, use light audio speaker wire, black for negative and red for positive, presolder the wire ends first then cut the bear ends down and solder to the tracks taking care not to cross tracks with the solder, then shorten the both positive and negative lengths so the battery and the wires will fit back into the casing of the key and resolder the wire connections to the battery, before closing the key casing test the key to see if the immobiliser is operating then relocate the ring seal and close the two casing together with tape or reglue with arildite glue. if your soldering technique is not up to scratch practice your technique until you feel confident and this should save you about $100
