Question about Computers & Internet
If the application is in your start menu simply right click on it and choose send to, desktop.
If not go into your C drive, Program files, Open the folder for the application, find the .exe file for the application, right click on it, choose send to... desktop

Right click on the desktop. Choose browse and look for the folder containing your application. Select the executable file for the application, usually a .exe file. Thats it. Most popular programs will automatically create there own icon graphic.
