Laptop compaq will not charge will not turn on. Puting charger on it and pushing the on button i see lights once i release on button light goes out. thinking its charger or its where i plug in charger on...

Try this quick fix, if there are no issues with your charger and/or battery, this might work...
- remove battery
- make sure charger is not connected
- long press the power button for about 1 minute
- release then connect charger or power adapter, without the battery
- press power button to turn on the laptop

If this did not help, try using other power adapter.

When i plug the charger in the orange battery light comes on and the computer turns off

Try removing the battery from the back and then running it directly through the AC adapter. Sometimes the battery and AC adapter have conflicts and it can cause a laptop to become inoperable.

If this doesn't fix the problem in any way, I would recommend trying a new battery or AC adapter.

hope this helps

My Dell laptop d600 suddenly shut off and will not power back up....led light on adapter blinks when plugged in...I have tried re-inserting RAM modules but this or nothing else seems to work.. thank you...

Unplug your battery and then plug in AC adaptor and see if laptop powers on. I assume you power button doesnt turn on at all? If so, your motherboard seems to have a power issue. Unfortunately, you have to replace motherboard. If laptop. powers on withour battery then you then battery needs replacement.

Dell Vostro 1000 shut down and won't turn back on

nope, it is your dc power regulator board. you will note this happens if the battery is in or out of the laptop. that is the key test. some regulators are on the main board and some are seperate for this reason. I think the vostro though is on the main board. A little board re-work will resolve this issue after replacing some components, but this is way beyond a home user's ability.. trust me on this. Sorry for the bad news. Thanks!

My AcerAspire 5920 laptop won't turn on. It is plugged in. When I push the power button, nothing. No lights, no sounds, no action. It worked fine yesterday! What happened? How can I fix it?

Sir,
Unplug the power
Take out the battery
Wait 2 minutes
Put the battery back in
Try to turn on the machine
If that doesn't work, take out the battery
wait 1 minute
Plug in the latop and try to see if you can turn it on after that.

If that doesn't work, then yes it's something else

However try to hold the power on key down for 10 -15 seconds. If that does nothing take the battery out and use only the power adapter.
Thanks Good Luck

Computer does not turn on when I press the power button

do u have the power adapter plugged in, or are you using battery power? the first thing i would try is disconnecting the battery. just compleatly remove it and set it aside. then try starting it with the adapter plugged in. sometimes the batteries go bad and are corrupt. i had this happen to a compaq laptop a few years back. after i got rid of the battery it worked fine. if it works u can always buy a new battery.

Acer Travelmate C112TCi- Won't power on

Hi,
Remove the adapter and the battery from the laptop.
Press the power button and hold it down for 20 seconds(without the battery or adapter plugged in to it). This process is called POWER DRAIN.
Now connect only the adapter and try to turn it on.
If it starts up, there is no problem with the adapter or the laptop.
If it doesn't, it can be either the adapter or the laptop.
You will have to check it with a different adapter to confirm which one is faulty.

The second case is that the computer powers on only with the adapter.
Then you can put the battery back in and try powering it up.
If it doesn't work, try connecting the adapter too.
If still it doesn't work, its a faulty battery.

Sometimes after doing a power drain, the computer will work fine.
If you have any more issues, feel free to contact me.
