I see a Black line on the LCD screen in my Canon A2000IS that is always present. (I am able to see it even when I switch off the camera). Its not affecting the pictures taken but its kinda blocking my view when I try to take in the pictures. The line is a horizontal one almost in the middle of the LCD screen. Could someone please help me and tell how to get rid of this? Thanks..

SOURCE: Canon Powershot A2000IS pictures corrupted be color wash.

This could be a failing SD card causing corruption of the stored files (the SD card isn't an ebay special is it? there have been some very bad quality cards coming from China recently). Recommend first trying another brand of SD card.

After you've tried another card and it's still doing this, then the symptoms could also be impending CCD image sensor failure. Unfortunately you cannot fix this yourself. But as the A2000 is a relatively new camera, it's likely that you've owned it less than one year and it's still under warranty.

If in US or Canada, call 1-800-OK-CANON to arrange for warranty repair.

There are some black vertical lines on the left side of the LCD screen of my Canon 1100D/T3 DSLR camera. What could be the reason for this?

The LCD is bad. To verify, take a photo. If there are lines on the photo when viewed on a PC, then it's the image sensor. Otherwise it's the LCD. Only replacement of the LCD or wiring will fix it.

Camera showing/taking distorted images

According to many respected sources with far more expertise than myself, the symptoms you are describing also fall within the realm of Canon CCD failure. In Canon's Service Notice: CCD Image Sensor Advisory, they outline the most common symptoms (distorted images, LCD showing only a black screen, etc.). They have conveniently limited the description to the bare minimum. More symptoms of the failing CCD include: pictures appearing on LCD show up with severe color variations (pink-purplish or green tint), colored "streaks" or "lines" throughout pictures, and wavy distortions in image. Most of these symptoms include the color variations, but not always. The lines or waves can appear in any direction and with varying degrees of severity. Some LCDs do not go black, but turn totally purple. Here is a link to a very informative article that should clear up any questions you might have.
Digital Camera Repair Blog

If nothing else, call the Canon Customer Support Center at 1-800-828-4040. They will ask questions to identify whether or not you are having the same symptoms as described in the Product Advisory. I have been through this twice, and both times they were very nice and very helpful. Even if you don't qualify for the free repair, it didn't cost a thing to find out.
I hope this has been helpful.
