Yes, that's a good way to describe it. It's just showing the colors Red and Green.

  • statenation2 Sep 28, 2009

Awesome, I can do that. Please send the instructions and I will get the parts ordered. Thanks.

If it is a 43uwx10b you need to replace both of the stk-392-110 convergence chips---If you can solder----this is a very easy set to do this repair on and you can buy both the chips for less than 15 dollars on Ebay.

I can describe here step by step instructions and what else you need to look for when you do the repair.

Let me know if you want the instructions----I don't know if you are able to do this repair--takes about an hour and as I said in this set it should be pretty easy job.

Here is what you need to do:

    First--two versions of this model.

    1. Unplug TV set.
    2. Remove back cover of set.
3.. On far right side of set as you look from the back you should see a circuit board about 4 inches wide and 12 inches deep(the easy version of this model)
    4. If this is the set you own and it has this board--you need to remove the 3 screws that secure it and unplug all the black foldover plugs on the left edge of the board. There are 6 more plugs to unplug(note and or mark them as 3 are identical and need to be plugged back where they each came from.
5.) If this board is not there you will have to unbolt and pull the entire chassis back and up so the bottom faces the back of the TV to get at the chips.
    6. You should be able to see the two chips on the large metal heat sink on the far right side of the set--examine them for the correct STK number----on the left side of the heat sink look at all the resistors and look for any that are discolored or burnt in the middle.

    7. If you have the one with the removeable circuit board--take the board out by releasing the plastic tabs on the left side and pulling it out and back(it slips into slots on the front edge of the board.)

    8. With the board out apply Liquid solder flux to all 18 pins on each chip and with a good soldering iron and a de-solder braid unsolder both chips---once they are unsoldered remove the two screws that secure each---you will have to use a flatbladed screwdriver and break them loose from the heatsink.

    9. A good idea is to after you get them both out to clean the bottom of the board with denatured alcohol where they were soldered. Apply heat sink grease(heat sink compound) and install each of the two new chips---the pins have to be perfectly straight for you to get them in.

    10. Apply liquid solder flux to all the pins on each chip and carefully solder them in--when you are done check the connections to make sure all are soldered and not touching another pin. You may want to clean again.

    11. All the protect resistors have location numbers marked under them on top of the board---if you find a bad one you need to replace it or the set will still have the same problem---all the resistors can be checked like checking a fuse--most will read like a good fuse--a few will read higher--most of the the time if one is bad it will be discolored in the middle --look a little white.

    12. Install the board back and carefully reconnect all the plugs--turn the set on at this point and see what you have--if it looks fairly normal replace the screws and back cover and in the customer menu adjust the convergence.

    13. If you have the version that does not have the removeable board you do it the same way except you have to unbolt the entire chassis and flip it up so the bottom of all the boards face the back of the set--takes a little longer as you have to untie and release some cables to get enough room---

    14. let me know if you have questions--if you have the version with the removeable board---it should take less than a hour total for the fix.

    please rate this solution.

IF you go to Ebay--select search, then advanced search, then search by seller--------look for: sewsales55 company is named Suburban Electronics---good seller and gives 6 month warranty on the parts--you should find a pair of chips from him about 12 dollars plus shipping--quick shipper and good people there.

REMEMBER: if you need any help or have problems let me know--I can also teach you if you get the set working how to go into the advanced convergence mode to really fine adjust and save all the adjustments-- whatever happens take your time and let me know if you need help--do not forget to rate my solution here.

IGO tv connected with dish sound come from tv but pictur not show only blue color show

Component RCA Connectors are RED, BLUE, GREEN for picture. Sound is RED and WHITE. The red and white for sound work the same with the YELLOW that does picture. If the RED, BLUE, GREEN are in the wrong order you will get a blue or green picture. For the sound, try the other red and white connectors nearby. Make shore the right red connectors are connected correctly for sound or picture. Otherwise there could be a cable fault or a TV fault. If you get the picture right but not the sound, connect the sound into a stereo.

I have Hitachi 46F510 projection tv. Problem is that the picture is getting very blury. Cant find any thing in manual for bulb replacement. Hate to throw out the tv. ...

projection TV sets have two very common problems. One is convergence ( 3D/Warped video) the other is CRT fluid ( Dull Video). Here are more details and solutions for both.

Common Problem #1) Convergence has gone out

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

Common Symptoms include....

  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
  • TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.
Here are some pics of convergence problems.

Common Problem #2) CRT Fluid is Cloudy

Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.

Green tinted people

The only time I have had issues like this was because of the Component Cables not being in the right position (the Red and Blue connections switched), or a bad Component Cable where the Blue Connection is not receiving a signal. Swap out the cable to be sure and double check that it is properly installed. Green to Green, Red to Red , Blue to Blue.
Hope this helps,
