Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I'm trying to view a cassette video in my video camera on my computer. The video output of the camera is plugged into a MAGIX CE USB connector, which is then connected to a USB computer connector. This does not work for me. The MAGIX CE connector has a light indicator that illuminates when the video is transfering to the computer. I can't get it to light up!

You should have a video capture card fitted in you PC, and then you can view a cassette video from video camera. Thanks.

Want to transfer Hi8 video from cassette my PC sharp 8mm camcorder vl-420 with no battery or adapter

Not sure if that camera works just with a power adapter, some of them need the battery. If you look on Ebay you may find both. If you get them and the camera works ok then you will need a video capture card or USB video capture adapter to connect the camera to the PC. Then you will need to know what type of output lead you need from the camera to the video card/adapter. Usually with older cameras it will have a socket for a lead to allow for showing on TV. It should have the red/yellow/white RCA/Phono connectors on one end and the plug for the camera on the other. Then you will need video capture software. It may come supplied with the capture device.

Magix Edit Pro 14 can't see my video camera so I can't import videos. It's hooked up via USB cable. Any ideas for me?

Open the video camera in 'My Computer' to open it like a USB Memory Stick. Then copy the video files onto your hard drive in a folder of your choice, this way you can import into Magix Edit Pro from the Hard Drive if it cannot see the camera.

How do you upload the Cassette Video into the computer?

This camera has both USB and Firewire (DV) connections. The manual seems to say that either can be used to transfer video. Suitable Firewire (DV) cables can easily be found on Amazon or eBay. You will need the kind with a small (four pin) connector at one end and a larger (six pin) connector at the other. The USB cable is less standard at the camera end, so search for one that is compatible with your camera.

You don't say what computer you have. Most PCs have a USB port, but no Firewire port. Macs often have a Firewire port but may not have USB. As most Windows PCs do not come with this interface, you might need to fit an add-on Firewire interface card.

A manual for the camera can be downloaded from this page.

The manual gives some details about connecting to a computer. More information may be available from the same site.

Please let me know how to view the images from a D3000 dslr camera thro` a LCD TV having usb port

You can't. You can use the supplied video cable to connect the camera to a TV's video in connector to play videos and view images, but not the USB port. The USB is only to connect the camera to a computer.

Making a CD from Sony CCDTRV68 Handycam

I'm using TRV320 camcorder with IEEE 1394 firewire cable 4pin to 6 pin. Your PC also need 1394 firewire plug which should be available in ebay. AV output is for analog signal and you need to use DV in/out plug for digital signal in your camcorder. Good luck -James

Connect sony handycam video hi 8 to a computer

There are lots of devices on ebay for doing this. I have one for just about £15 so pretty cheap. You then play the video through the "red yellow an white plugs" an its converted into USB. Easy to use software too. You can record from a video player or any digital camera or camcorder or ineed anything which has an output of the yellow red an white connectors.

I tried searching for your camera on the internet for a run down on how it connects to a pc but with the model number you gave I got no results?

There might be a small connector somewhere which is infact USB but looks nothing like it! You will find a similar connector on some mobile phones, or an ipod, digi camera etc etc One model I did find says it does streaming straight to USB.

JVC Everio GZ-HD3 Flash Media Camcorder

If you plug in the USB cable from the camera to a Windows XP machine, the Everio disk looks like a USB disk drive, and I can copy the files over using Windows Explorer. In order to convert them to MPG files, we are using Cyberlink PowerDirector5 NE Express, since the camera produces TOD files, which need to be converted to MPG. We are using MAGIX as the video editor after the conversion from TOD to MPG.

I have a jvc model number GR-D770U AND IM TRYING TO TRANSFER what is on the cassette to my computer with the usb cable how do i do it.

Your camcorder is only able to transfer still pictures with usb,if you would like to transfer a video you must use a DV input on a computer. If you would like instructions on how to transfer still pictures using the usb.Install software that was included with camcorder then make sure your using the adapter instead of battery otherwise you may run out of power, then make sure your unit is turn off then plug in usb cable to computer. After plug unit in turn on camcorder and use software provided to transfer pictures.Never pull out memory card when plug in to computer and make sure you do not unplug cable while arrow signs pointing right and left on view screen.I hope this helps you out happy picture taken.
