Question about Technics SL-1210 Turntable

Technic SL - 1210M5G problem.

Sounds like most  records are slightly warpped, but when I took them back, they played fine on all other tables.  It is the MOST annoying presence of sound I've ever encountered.  My best description is that it sounds like phasing issues but I don't think that is possible. My tables are new.  I've tried changing the angle on my needles from 0 degrees alll the way up to 20 degrees, with no audible betterment.  Please give me a sloution or multible troubleshoots to help!      Thank you for your assistance!

If you knew anything about turntables, you would probably know that 1210's are direct drive.  Next ???  Does anyone know what I'm talking about??????

Check to make sure that your voltage setting is set correctly. Look under the turntable platter. YOu'll see a voltage selector. Make sure it's properly set for your area (115V or 220V). Do the lights dim off/on? If so, than that is usually the problem. If not, then you might have a faulty turntable drive issue, which means something is wrong on the main board (located underneath the turntable platter).

You can open her up and see if there are any burnt resistors or anything unusual on the board. Take a look at R213 and also Q2 and Q3 to see if they are burnt.

I would suggest you verify you motor is sound, the platter is not rubbing. Is it direct drive or belt drive? You could go as far as check that your ac to your house is stable and the ac to dc rectifier/transformer/whatever it is called is good. When you say tables are never used or made within the last 6 months?

More details on the tables would help.

I have 2 technic sl1200s and the right table has noise coming out of the speaker when i moved the tonearm. when music plays, it sounds like the treble and volume of the right speaker is weaker help...

If your left technics sounds good, maybe the problem is the cartridge. Try to interchange the cartridges, right table cartridge by the left one, and listen. If now the bad sound comes from the left table, it´s time to get a new cartridge or stylus. If the problem continues there is something else to look for. Hope this will help. Flavio/Brazil.

Techics sl-1210s m3 turntable spins back on itself

You have a fault on the quartz-lock speed control electronics. It may be a simple fix, it may be not.

It will require specialist investigation. A Technics dealer should be able to advise you, and arrange shipping back to Technics for repair if you decide that is the best thing to do.
