Hi-limit on the heater housing has tripped or the belt has broke.

try this, unplug the unit or shut off the 30amp breaker. open the door and turn the drum by hand. feel any resistance ? OR, if you do this with another person one of you can spin the drum and the other can feel for air-flow at the back by undoing the vent hose. if you feel air than you know the belt is ok,otherwise the motor and blower wouldn't turn. (unless the blower had broken from the motor, which is possible, in fact common with these units, in turn can be the cause of the tripped hi-limit, but trip/open safety stat can be caused by poor/obstructed venting as well, insure your vent is clear and not "kinked" anywhere).

You may try this as well, it's more involved.

1) undo the dryer top by locating the hold down clips on both sides between the top and front panel. using a puddy knife push in on the clips one at a time, applying steady even force while lifting slightly on the corner of the top. repeat on the other side. if the machine is far enough from the wall you will be able to "flip" the top up like a vehicle engine bonnet/hood, lean it against the wall (careful, don't let it come down on your head)

2) you should now be able to determine if the belt is intact. locate the fasteners holding the front panel on, there should be two 5/16 head nuts. while leaning into the front panel slightly remove these nuts (leaning to prevent the panel from falling into you and also it makes the nuts easier to remove with less "load" on them). once the fasteners are out, let the panel come towards you a little, remove the wires for the door switch (2 wires, unless the cabinet has a drum light, then there's 3, remember where they go). now you can remove the front panel by lifting up a little and out as it just rest's on clips on the bottom. can you now see the blower wheel ? Is it broke (spinning freely) ? look closely, it may be the drive hole in the wheel "rounded" and just spinning on the motor, it should be shaped like a "D". if so you'll need part # 13001317 or # 53-0106 depending on your model & serial number (your local parts depot will/should know)

3) if all that is done and the blower is either fixed, or not broke, time to check that hi-limit. the heater housing and limit stat are located at the back of the dryer behind the drum "bulk head/rear support". limit stat comes in a kit # LA-1053, replace both stats in the kit. ohm out the heater to insure it's good. if not replace it while you're at it, that should be a # LA-1044. but double check that number in reference to your model, they may have made revisions, changes I'm not aware of, I don't want to mis-inform you.

hope all that helps and wasn't too much, or was enough.

good luck

My Dryer won't stop drying until I open the door.

If it does this in a Timed Dry setting the timer is bad. If it does this in an Auto dry setting it could be a bad moisture sensor or a bad timer.

Crosley dryer Cdes563sq0 if i turn the timer on befor i push the start button the heat will start but the moter dose not start.even after the button is pushed.

It sounds like there is a problem with the motor/belt. If you can get the top up, mine you have to push in two clips between the lid and the body about two inches in from the right and left sides, you can look down into the machine to see if the belt is still on track or if the motor is turning. I had one dryer that the belt would come off the spring tensioned idler pulley. Best of luck

The dryer timer knob won't set, therefore when you push to start, nothing happens

Try to twist the outside ring around the timer knob. The knob could be faulty and freewheeling, so turning the outside ring (I'm assuming you have a mechanical timer, not an electronic one) does the same thing as turning the knob while it is "out". When you've set the timer, then push the knob in to start. Hope this helps - I made some assumptions about your machine that I hope are correct... Good luck.

When i push the push knob the dryer will not start...the electric is there i need to know how to repair the push knob

If you are talking about the starting switch "knob", you will not normally repair that, you will replace it.
If you are talking about the timer switch you normally do not repair the timer switch either...replace it.
If you do decide to replace either switch, remove and replace one wire at a time, this will save you problems with the wiring.

My Crosley dryer not drying

You will have to ensure the tub belt is not broken or off the motor pulley. Also, you may have a bad push to start switch or door closed switch. Open door and manual hold in door switch and have someone to push the start button if there is any sound or attempt to start these switchs are most likely good and your problem is with the belt. Hope this helps God Bless

Turned knob and got a buzz. turned knob again and no sound. Just finished a load and was starting on the next.

Hi. im assuming the buzz came from the timer knob(behind the knob). if so, this will confirm timer failure and, you will need to replace this timer control module in order to restore proper function to your unit.

If the buzz was located behind the start switch, replace as well.
