John Deere 430 lawn tractor hydrostatic transmission will not work in forward or reverse even with no weight on the axle. New filter and oil did not fix. What should I check next?

Some have a procedure for "burping" air from the hydraulic system. Changing engine oil and filter won't affect it- independent system.

My John deer 8r tractor it restricted my power. So I changed the hydraulic filter. And it still restricts the power. Why?

Be sure your flow control knobs are adjusted fully on. Check your couplers be sure they match with what JD recommends. You may have to get you local JD dealer to flow rate hydraulic pump and see whats going on.

1970 John Deere 4020 Diesel, Engine speeds up by its self, I goose the throttle and then it will idle down. pretty sure it is a govenor problem. How do I fix this?

spring is broken/stretched out on govenor linkage bar that runs from air damper flag to injector pump and i would expect a 1970 to be needing a new spring about 5 years ago

The hydraulic steel line on my 2010C bucket loader broke and I dumped a good amount of fluid before shutting everything off. Replaced line and filled tank up, everything worked fine for about 1/2 hour,...

Like other hydraulic systems, there is probably a procedure for bleeding the lines after loss of most of the fluid. You may still have air trapped in the system and once it works its way to the cylinder, the cylinder is working with air instead of fluid and the air compresses instead of doing work.

How do I fix a broken steele line on a John Deere 425 lawn tractor which operates the power steering and hydraulic valve body?

The easiest way is to go to a John Deere dealer with the model and serial number and old part if you have it off and buy the correct replacement part that is all bent and flafed to fit eactly where it belongs the other idea is to take the failed lint to you local auot parts store and buy a piece of steel tube of the right diameter with the correct ends, and take it home and bend it to match the failed part and reinstall it, being sure to bleed the air out of the system when you have everything re-installed. Hope this Helps Don

John Deere Three Bottom Rollover Plow

Hey, the "round cylinder" is a power steering motor for a John Deere 630. If you start looking for one of those instead, I'll bet you'll have better luck. Deere dealerships tend to not care unless you're buying a half million dollars in equipment.

My John Deere 2010 tractors lift does not work. I am note sure of the oil level. What is the correct procedure? Where can I get a free service manual to download?

Here is a link to the John Deere web site for the manuals.
http://www.deere.com/servlet/com.deere.u90785.productcatalog.view.servlets.PublicationsSearchServlet?userAction=publicationsSearchResults&entryPoint=other&tM=FR&searchCriteria=2010&submit=Search&language=english

Also,
The hydraulics on a 2010 are part of the transmission oil system. There is a bolt looking plug on the right side of the transmission, about half way up, about where your feet rest when your foot is not on the brake. Fill up the transmission until the oil is level with the top of the hole and is about to run out. Using HyGuard hydraulic/transmission oil or one that meets the same spec for the 2010.
