Sorry you haven't had an answer to your inquiry yet. You may not even require a remedy any longer, but in the event you do I'll post it.
The "F5" in the smw272 wall unit is indicating the on-board watchdog has detected a oven temperature sensor fault/failure. The remedy issued by Thermador's tech support and authorized technicians service manual's is to first replace the oven temperature sensor. If the display should still display after wards, replace the main relay board.
It may be too late to suggest, but you may be best served having an authorized thermador tech look at it.
Hope that helps, better late than never hopefully.

- Hello again,
A correction on my last post. I made a typo.
"If the display should still display after wards, replace the main relay board".
should have read,
If the display should still display "F5" after wards, replace the main relay board.
Sorry for any confusion this may have caused you or any reading my post.

I get an "F2" fault when I try to self-clean my thermador ove. I have turned it off, waited for several minutes and tried again, as manual suggests, but to no avail.
