The oven has had 24hrs to cool down & the oven door is still locked. How do I release it

Not sure the make or model that you have but with a GE Profile, I have had success by turning off the circuit breaker for 30 seconds to a minute. The oven then resets itself and releases the door lock.

Oven door latch will not release so that I can open the door

Try jiggling the door by the handle. Jiggle it hard, both sideways, in/out and up/down. The little piece in there that releases the door may just be stuck, and didn't move quite far enough to let the door open. These things happen.

I have a STOP message on the oven display. The user manual refers me to the product description sheet or the electronic programmer description, neither of which I have. The oven is not working at all while...

HI. This is a control fault, that may be corrected by simply shutting down the appropriate circuit breaker for 5 minutes. This will DE-energize the control board. Once the 5 minutes have passed, simply re-introduce power to the unit. If the unit continues to produce the error, this will confirm that the main control board has failed. it should be replaced asap.

If you look at the top row of controls, you'll see one that says "Latch" with a switch to toggle between Locked and Release. Push on the "Release" switch setting and try the latch. It should release.
