Re: battery drains

I measured the battery current on my Visor. It was over 50ma on as well as off. I backed it up to the desktop, put in fresh batteries and gave it a hard reset. The battery current became 13ma when on and 600ua when off. I was able to repeat the high drain / low drain cycle. My guess is that doing a reset with less than full battery power hangs the unit in the high drain state.

How do i turn it on

If you're having problem of turning phone ON, the first thing to check is changing the battery pack,it might be drained and overused so you need to replace a new battery.another step is changing the charger, might failed to supply power on your battery and may result to drain the battery as well.

If this method never works,it's better to bring it to any mobile service shop near you for a complete diagnosis and troubleshooting the phone.

Just put new batteries in and screen isn't showing clearly.. What do i need to do?

Have you done charging the battery initially for 6hrs. The best way to get maximum efficiency & output from a battery is to charge the battery initially for 6hrs (evenif the full battery notification is shown), Then drain the battery almost full and repeat the procedure three times.

Don't you bought the original Battery? Please check that too.

Batteries drain in a day or two, even when not turned on. What is the likely cause?

After the batteries are used for so long they will not hold their charge. When they do this the battery needs to be replaced. Here is also a link to the palm free chat that Palm offers. They may be able to give you some more insight as to what options you may have to get it fixed. Scroll to the bottom of the page once it loads and you will see palm chat. Click on the chat now link and follow the prompts. I have always had good luck with this feature. Best wishes.

Weird Battery life issue.

It's possible that your battery needed to be replaced. Since if the battery is not taking any charge or the battery depletes fast.. that basicly signifies that battery needs to be replaced since sometimes we can't avoid for the battery to be overcharged or we often charged them to often even if the battery still isn't drained yet. That causes for the battery to be defective or overused.

Blackberry 8800 Kills Battery within 12 hrs. Replaced 2 batts.

there are a lot of little things that drain the battery. i have made adjustments to my phone and the battery lasts me 3-5 days depending on its usage.

1. turn off the LED coverage indicator(usually blinks green when u have signal, red when u dont)
2. change your back light timer to 10, 20, or 30 seconds.
3. do not overcharge the phone, it will lower the capacity level of the battery. only charge it when its low and take it off when its full.
4. check the reminder notifications from messages/voicemail/txt,etc. set it to one or two.
5. check to see if you are roaming or searching for service. the constant searching drains the battery.
6. check to see that u have exited the programs u were using. if u have installed maps, navigation, etc and just back out of the program without exiting the GPS is constantly updating your position.
Hope this helps.

You can get a replacement backup battery right here at Essentially like you said you've totally drained the backup battery, and it now has to be replaced. The repair involved no soldering, so it's not terrible difficult, but you do have to completely disassemble the unit to replace the internal backup battery. You'll need a good set of screw drivers and torx bits to take it apart fully. Also pdasmart has a repair service they offer. For $25 they will repair the pda for you. For an extra $5 and a couple extra days shipping time that would be hands down your best bet if you aren't technically skilled in electronics hardware. I hope this has explained your question in detail. If I've helped you please don't forget to rate me. Peter

Drained batteries, not powering up, next step?

For me I prefer charging the iPAQ using the usual cable, not the USB as I had some troubles with that It makes the battery drain faster. So Use a usual charging transformer.
