Re: port forwarding

What kind of connection problems are you having? Is it telling you that your NAT is restricted?

I have a belkin n modem router and it keeps kicking the xbox off line. is it the xbox live or my new router

it is the problem with router....the firewall built-in in the router will not allow certain gaming devices to go online...for this purpose you need to forward certain ports in the belkin router...for the list of port numbers to be forwarded, contact xbox vendor....once you got those port numbers, you can call 24x7 toll free belkin tech support(1800-2-235546)(1800-2-belkin) and ask them to assist u to forward ports... or you can can connect a computer to one of the wired ports(1 to 4) and open internet explorer and type in address bar and hit "enter key". you ll see belkin router setup page...on the left side you ll find "virtual servers" that link(if it asks password, leave it blank and click submit) fill the IP address of your xbox in that form and type the port numbers and select appropriate (tcp/udp)... also click on"firewall" in left and disable it.... also click on DMZ in left and type your xbox ip address there and enable it... thats it.... you are done with that...

I have a Belkin Wireless router and I have a PS3

Actually you don't need to forward ports when playing online games. The router should automatically locate the ports for the game because it has UPnP function. Here's what you can do. Disable the port forwarding and DMZ that you set on the router. Look for the UPnP function of the router and disable, Save it. Enable it again, then save. Now power cycle your router. If you have Static IP on the PS3 network settings, try to set it first to automatic IP and automatic DNS.

Hope that helps.

Would like to host a game thru my motorola modem/router

You need to look for something on your router called Static NAT and configure it to point to your internal IP address.  You also need to find out what ports your NASCAR game advertises itself's usually high ports (20000-30000).  ONce you find out the port(s), you can create a custom service on your router for those ports, and when you configure Static NAT, it should ask what 'service' you want to advertise.  This basically tells the router to forward all inbound traffic, looking for those particular ports, directly to your IP address, which will allow users on the Internet to see your game server.

I need help with my Xbox forwarding setup

First you need to go into your router, get on your computer and type in this will take you inside the router, go to gaming and applications. Go to port forwarding, enter the name xbox open the ports
  • TCP 80
  • UDP 88
  • UDP 3074
  • TCP 3074
  • UDP 53
  • TCP 53
  • Find out what the ip address of your xbox is set at, this is done in the xbox control panel. Open up those ports to that ip address of your xbox. you will probably have to enter more than one entry for all those ports, make them x1, x2,x3 an so forth. save settings. and then go to your xbox and try to get online.

Here is a link that might help more.

My wireless XBOX 360 says ''not connected'' when I test XBOX LIVE

in this case you need to do a port forwarding, which is something like opening the specific ports on router so that xbox will communicate with internet
for that we need to know the ip address of xbox and port numbers for microsoft for knowing the port numbers and their range,so we can do a port forwarding on your router

Hi i have a satellite internet provider and im trying to set up my linksys broadband router so i can hook up my xbox 360 my problem is everytime i hook it up im getting no internet connection can you tell...

there are two things to be addressed in this case.firstly you have a satellite internet provider which can create consistency issue.then when you connect a xbox to router you need to do a port forwading on linksys router(port forwarding=opening ports in router so your xbox can communicate freely).in order to do the port forwarding you have to log onto router user interface.then go to applications and gaming tab, where you can do the port forwarding.
but before doing so,you have to contact microsoft to know the ip address assigned to the xbox and the ports(numbers) to be opened.
    thank you.

Router will not allow me to play onling games through xbox 360

If the problem has something to do with NAT firewall in your router, then you may need to open certain application ports for your XBOX in the router. You may check this link from Microsoft that talks about NAT firewall and XBOX live.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi Tman,

Here is a link to the Xbox ports.
In the firewall option, direct those ports to the IP of your Xbox. I don't have an xbox, but I would think there is someway to set a static IP on it. That way DHCP won't change your xbox ip when you reboot it. Some routers allow you to assign a specific IP to the xbox, but not sure about yours.
Visit this site, It may have your router, and will tell you how to setup the ports for your xbox step by step.

allright do not worry about it seems some ports has to be forwaded in the router, normally 88- udp and other ports has to be forwarded in the router, get in touch with and the port numbers , that will fix your problem
