CD doens't work after installing iPod.
I have a CD/DVD burner in my laptop. After installing my iPod, I noticed that I can no longer play CD's. DVD work fine, but for some reason the CD's just spin & spin. When I initally tried to install my iPod, I got an error message saying that it was unable to install. I researched the message I was getting on the internet and was told to go into DOS, type something in there and it would install. (It was about 1.5 years ago now, and I have no idea what I did anymore). I know, big help right? Anyway, after doing whatever I did, my iPod installed fine. Any ideas? I'm running a Toshiba Satellite Laptop w/Vista 32 bit. Not sure what else you might need, but please get back to me. Thanks!!

- Hi Keith, thanks for the response. It is all CD's, whether it's audio, data, games, it doesn't matter. I am unable to burn to CD. DVD's play fine with no problem. My husband watches movies all the time. As far as an error message, there isn't one. I put the CD in and I can hear the drive revving, but then after about 15 seconds, the spinning and revving sound just stops. When I go to My Computer to where my C and D drives are, if I click on my D drive, it opens the CD area and says to insert a disc (even though there is one in there). It's quite perplexing. I don't understand how DVDs can play fine, but not CDs. Any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks again!Clarification Request

Are these all audio CDs you're attempting to rip? Data CDs you're trying to access? Can you not access even a single CD of any type but DVDs are fine? What is the error message you are currently receiving?
