Had Ipod touch but lost it and now have bought a friends ipod touch. My question is how can keep my songs on my account that I already have but also add all of his without deleting my library when connected to my computer.
How do I change the Ipod from his account to mine so I can purchase more songs?

To bypass a lost or forgotten password on your iPod Touch or iPhone,
you'll need to go into Recovery mode:
( First method that worked)
You do this by plugging the iPod touch
into a computer then hold down the power button for about 5 seconds
until you see the red slider button to power it off, slide to power off
the iPod touch. Then press and hold both the power button and the home
button at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release the
power button but keep holding in the home button. Hold the home button
in until you see the iTunes logo on the iPod touch, then let go of it.
You can then restore your iPod using any computer but keep in mind that
you will lose everything.
( Shorter method that I'm told will work, but untested)
Make sure your iPod Touch is completely turned off and unconnected from
your computer. Hold down the Home button, and connect it to your USB
cable. It will automatically turn on when you connect the cable. Just
keep holding the Home button until the Connect to iTunes logo appears.
You can reset it using iTunes. Open iTunes, plug the iPod in using USB,
then turn of the iPod, once it's off hold down the home and lock buttons
for 10 seconds, then release the lock button while continuing to hold
the home button. After a few seconds iTunes should detect the iPod. Then you should be able to restore the iPod without the code.
1. Reset or restore your iPod for a try, this can fix many general iPod problems.
2. You may try this iTunes alternative, I always use it to upload music and video to my iPod once my iTunes can't recognize my iPod, my friends recommend it to me, it's safe and works pretty well, you can also use it to copy music and video from ipod to computer for backup, it's useful when you lost your iTunes library.
3. Update your iTunes to the latest version. Plug in your iPod. If iTunes can't recognize it, then in iTunes in the top left corner click help> run diagnostics. On the box that comes up, check the last two things. Click next and it should identify your iPod. I got this method from Apple technical support. Hope it helps. Contact me if you have any other question.
What your friend did was to try and jailbreak your iPod. Apple does not support that, and though it may be considered "legal", Apple may deny service to it.
To make sure you have been trying to restore it properly, try to follow this method:
Plug in your iPod into your computer and open up iTunes.
After a minute or so, scroll down on the left side of your screen until you see your iPod. Select it.
Your right screen should show some general information about your iPod. Scroll down the right side of your screen until you see a button labeled "Restore". Click it and click OK
This will reset your iPod back to factory settings. Anything you had on that iPod will be lost. It will bring you back to the welcome screen as if you bought your iPod for the first time. Follow the instructions and you should be set.
If this doesn't solve your problem, you should look up how to jailbreak your iPod Touch using the program your friend had used and follow those steps EXACTLY. This might have your iPod atleast functioning, then repeat the steps that I listed above. This should work.
If you have a backup before, go onto iTunes, right click on your device on the left-hand side bar, and their should be an option 'Restore From Backup', or something similar, click that and it'll restore your iPod to a previous backup.
iPod Data Recovery software can help you, it enables you preview and recover all contents from the iTunes' backup file, including your iPod photos, videos, notes, calendar and contacts.

Whenever you restore your iPhone or iPod touch, Apple highly recommends that you perform a sync prior to restoring in order to back up any changes since your last sync. If you have movie rentals on the device, see this document before restoring.
Use the following steps to restore your iPhone or iPod touch:
Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed and running before attempting to update.
Connect your iPhone or iPod touch to your computer.
Select your iPhone or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
Select the Summary tab.
Select the Restore option.
When prompted to back up your iPhone or iPod touch's settings before restoring, select the Back Up option (as seen in the image below). If have just backed up the device, it is not necessary to create another.
Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (As long as you've backed up your device, you should not have to worry about restoring your phone).
Once the restore process has completed the iPhone or iPod touch restarts and displays the Apple logo while starting up
