Take the tape out. Cycle the load without a tape in the case. Load and then eject. Now try it with a tape! This worked on my Samsung D963 (DV) camera. Please let me know if this worked reliably on yours!

Where is tbe eject button

Did you look on the TV REMOTE carefully. Breathe deeply and see if following these directions helps you.

FIRST, go down past the "freeze" and "display" buttons that are located in the middle of the remote. Now, you will see a VOLUME and a CHANNEL button. Continue very slowly until you see a button labeled PICTURE then a button labeled SOUND.

NOW BE VERY CAREFUL or you can easily miss the button you are searching for. See if you now see 4 buttons across the middle of your remote. They will be labeled like this: SLEEP, ASPECT, CC, MTS. If you followed all of that you are now in the right place.

You will now see 4 buttons. The first one has a triangle with a line under it. Next one has a triangle pointing right. Next one has two lines that look like this: II. The last one has a solid square colored in.

BE PATIENT NOW. Go back to the VERY FIRST button that has a TRIANGLE with a line under it. If you have a magnifying glass, GET IT! If you are ready, look very carefully. Right UNDER the button which has the TRIANGLE with the line under it in almost invisible letters there is the word EJECT.

BY now you will wonder why on earth anyone would put the word EJECT in such a hidden place. Next to the word EJECT you will see the words PLAY, PAUSE, STOP. You are now wondering why you did not see it. You are not alone! We all felt that way. Even more disturbing is that unless you copy this down and TAPE it on your TV you will feel like you are in Twlight Zone as EACH time you get ready to use the EJECT you will "lose your mind again! I am speaking from repeated experiences!

All lol of that being said, if you find yourself lost and cannot find the button again, AFTER you print out these directions, I suggest that you get a bright colored marker and color code that button in RED. I say that because I assure you you WILL find yourself in this same situation again. You will be looking and you will be wondering how could that button have disappeared! I have spent long amounts of time just puzzled. WRITE THE DIRECTIONS DOWN??. Tape them ON YOUR TV.

If if you were unable to find the button after my instructions, GO TO YOUR TV. You will need your flashlight! Reach behind the UPPER RIGHT HAND side of the TV. Turn the TV towards you. You will see very hard to see buttons. There are buttons there. One is labeled EJECT. Push it.

Please write this all down and save yourself the agony and distress I had. I was amazed that after I had located that button that still could not easily go back to it.

Last suggestion: KEEP YOUR MANUAL taped on your TV. COLOR CODE that page which shows you where that EJECT button is on your remote. Don't trust your memory. Three years later - on this TV, I still am doing a hit and miss discovery session on my remote! Be patient. Go slowly.

Power goes off when a cassette is inserted. Tried cleaning heads but it won't even run that. When power is turned back on the cassette is immediately ejected.

Good day!!!

Most common problems
  • VCR refuses to FF or REW and shuts off.
  • VCR shuts off entering PLAY or REC or at random during PLAY or REC.
  • VCR eats tapes.
  • VCR doesn't accept tapes or ejects them without cause.
  • Sound is wavery, fluctuating, or muddy.
The cause for all of these is very often a bad idler tire or other dirty, worn, or tired rubber parts

When i put a tape in it ejects it..then a tape with a slash appears on the screen

you are prohibited from recording on thips tape. This is because the red tab on the side of the tape that faces you when you are inserting the tape inside the camera has been put in 'SAVE' position . to be able to record o the tape you need to use your fingernail to slide the red tab to the 'REC' position.

Ive extracted the following article for you from wilkepedia to help you understand this issue:
Tape and recording protection
250px-8mm_cassette_erase_tab.jpg magnify-clip.pngThe write-protect switch (right) prevents accidental erasure. .
To prevent the recording on the tape from being erased, there is a small write-protect tab that can be moved to one of two positions, labeled "REC" and "SAVE". Comparing the sliding tab to a door, the tape is in the "REC" position is when the "door" is open and the "SAVE" position when it is closed. (Not all tape cases have markings for this information!) The tape can only be recorded on (or recorded over) when this tab is in the "REC" position. This is an improved version of the VHS write-protect tab, which prevents erasure after it has been (permanently) broken off.

Most likely the lithium Ion battery has been discharged. Leave it plugged in for 24 hours without turning it on and it should charge the battery.

Dirty video head! Playback newly opened blank tape for five minutes, after that eject, reinsert, playback then eject again five times, these will serve as your video head cleaner, never use "video head cleaning cassette tape" for it will only damage your camera. Most camera has built in video head cleaner installed inside and activates only when you insert, initial play/rec, and ejects a tape. If the problem is still there you need pro fix then.[:0)

Playback

That's dirty video head! Try to playback new tape for five minutes, do it for 2 to 3 times, this will serve as your videohead cleaner. eject then reinsert then playback, eject again for at least 3 to five times. most camera has a built in videohead cleaner that activates during eject, initial play and reinsert mode. you can even try to play the whole blank tape! thats 1 to 2 hours of playback! If the problem is still there after doing those things, you need pro fix then.
